Botched Liposuction on a Already Disturbing Sculptra Situation

I had a less-than-ideal experience with Sculptra injections about a year and a half ago. After a year of physical and emotional distress, I sought help from Dr. Hong on December 18 in hopes of finding a solution.
I want to caution others about misinformation being shared online. A woman currently active on RealSelf is claiming she had only Sculptra in her cheeks and that Dr. Hong was able to completely remove it using ultrasound. However, I confirmed that she actually had Radiesse, possibly mixed with Sculptra. These are two very different products and it’s absolutely disturbing that this person failed to tell me this before charging me for the doctors information
Despite that, this woman is now promoting Dr. Hong’s ability to “remove Sculptra” safely—making it sound routine and risk-free. She’s misleading vulnerable people who are searching for real help. It’s dangerous to conflate Sculptra and Radiesse, especially when dealing with complications, scarring, or facial changes. People deserve honesty about what they’re facing.
Now, to my personal experience:
During my consultation, Dr. Hong entered the room and assured me that he could fix everything and that I had “nothing to worry about.” Those words led me to cancel two other consultations I had lined up for a safer, noninvasive procedure called Endolift. I regret that deeply.
Dr. Hong—this part is for you: Your nurse is not a replacement for a proper consultation. As the doctor, it is your responsibility to walk patients through the real risks of any procedure, especially when their face and identity are on the line. You gave me false reassurance that led to devastating consequences.
Now, I am left with the result of a poorly thought-out procedure that could have been avoided had you been more transparent. I was left physically and emotionally ruined—and now you’re asking me to get on a plane to show you the damage just to get a refund? That is beyond disappointing.
Ironically, I had considered the liposuction approach before but was warned repeatedly in the U.S. that it wasn’t safe. I never pursued it until now because I trusted that your method was different, and that your machine was somehow more specialized. Turns out, it’s the same machine used everywhere else. I was misled from day 1.
