Septo-rhinoplasty to Correct Deviated Septum and Improve the Appearance of my Nose - Boston, MA

I had my procedure yesterday and I'm home resting. The bruising and swelling are pretty bad right now.

My motivation for getting my nose done was to improve my breathing and overall appearance of my nose. If you look at pics, you can see that it's twisted from the front view and I had a dorsal hump. I didn't think it fit my face very well.

The surgeon asked if I had ever broken my nose because the septum was at a 90 degree angle, completing blocking my nasal passage! Everyone at the hospital was amazing and kind. I don't remember anything except waking up in the recovery room. The worst part was vomiting on the way home from the hospital. But I'm able to eat now and I'm not in too much pain.

Hi Dear. I had my procedure done only 12 days ago and my profile picture was taken only 10 days after Surgery. It gets exciting 6 days post Surgery when your cast gets taken off. I wish you a fast recovery :-))))

The bruising and swelling is pretty bad right now. My upper teeth are sensitive and swallowing isn't fun.

my upper teeth and roof of my mouth was the first thing I felt when I came too after surgery. I told the nurse it felt like I burnt the roof of my mouth eating too hot pizza and somebody hit me in the middle of my face with a brick. I'm 11 days post now and no mouth pain and my smile is back already.

Swollen

My whole face feels very swollen, though I think it's moving down to my cheeks. I've been icing every hour and taking Tylenol. I got very sick last night after taking two vicodin so I am going to hold off since I also puked on the way home from the hospital. I hate throwing up more than anything.

Would be amazing to see your nose after! I'm having surgery Wednesday for the same reasons and I'm so nervous! The surgeon also questioned my nose because my septum was is so badly deviated but like you I have no clue why as I've not broken it! I hope your recovery is okay x

Thank you! This has been very helpful for me during recovery just knowing there are other people going through the same thing! I will be sure to post more updates once the cast comes off!
