First of all, the $25,000 price tag was for ALL...

First of all, the $25,000 price tag was for ALL the procedures together. Rhinoplasty alone will be a much lower figure.

I decided to do a rhinoplasty to correct an asymmetrical nose. After consulting with the doctor- I also decided to supplement the procedure with a para-nasal implant and an infra-orbital implant (to correct my prominent eyes). And without a doubt, it's one of the best decision I ever made. The only regret: I should have done it way before.

Contrary to popular opinion here, I bounced off very easily from the surgery. I read many reviews here before doing this procedure. And many folks mentioned it was the most difficult thing they ever did. So I was a little skeptical. But now that I have done it, I have to say this: if this is the 'most difficult' thing you ever did, you have not done much in your life! In my case, it was a significant week in my life- but by no means the most difficult. (No disrespect to anyone which had a harder time with such a procedure). On a scale of 1-10, pain never got beyond a level 2. The most pain I felt was in my hand where the IV went. That thing hurt for 2 weeks! The recovery was a bit uncomfortable for a week- but without any significant pain. There was some significant swelling and associated numbness in the face till 2 weeks. Now I am at the 3 week plus point: there is still swelling and numbness: but nothing too significant.

A lot of information is discussed in this forum and others about rhinoplasty/chin augmentations. So I am not going to elaborate. But less is said about para-nasal and infra-orbital implants. In my case, the para-nasal and the infra-orbital implants made a huge positive impact. If you have prominent eyes- check out this procedure. And if you have a sunken nasal area- check out para-nasal implants. I think these two implants made more of an impact that even the rhinoplasty. I didn't even know these options existed. If you have questions- PM me and I will be glad to give you my input.

After about 10 days- I was 'restaurant ready'. But people who know me could tell that my face was a little swollen. After about 15 days- no one could tell except me. And I was back to a very active lifestyle in 15 days time. And in 3 weeks- back to routine, jogging, climbing, hiking, weights etc.

I am very pleased with the procedure. But I will tell you this: patience is the key. Don't be hanging around in front of the mirror everyday. You will look worn out and a little disfigured till the major swelling is gone. Especially more so in the case of the nose. Nose takes time to settle down. I am still a little swollen there at the 3 week point. But it's healing nicely and pleased with the results already. But be patient with the nose- it will take time to settle down! I can see how some people get depressed after a surgery like this. You WILL look worse before you look better. Don't panic and don't get depressed. Eat well and concentrate on getting well.

Had a very good experience with the doctor and his staff. A great facility, friendly staff and a world renowned surgeon. You can't go wrong with him. Make sure to figure out exactly what you want before you meet the doctor. That will make the process a little easier. I was not sure exactly what I wanted and it took a while to figure that out with the doctor. It will make it much easier if you can articulate what you are looking for. Then ask questions and go from there. They won't try to sell you anything. So ask plenty of questions. Which is how I found out about para-nasal and infra-orbital implants: which made a huge positive impact. Also, I came in for the procedure by myself... no caretaker with me. His facility had a great overnight recovery room with an overnight nurse. I highly recommend it. You'll be fully capable of walking out of the facility the next day to continue recovering in a nearby hotel!
