Hi everyone! I thought I would share my experience so far removing my tattoos with the picosure laser. It is a long, slow process but so far has been worth it. I have had 2 sessions so far with a 6 week wait time between treatments. The process was very painful for me, especially my lower back. I had to take multiple breaks to get through the second session on my lower back. I didn't have any blistering and my healing time was way faster the second time around. The only way I can describe the feeling after its over is if hot grease was to be splattered on your skin, this feeling goes away after a few hours though. I kept aquaphor over the tattoos covered with gauze for about 3 days and made sure to use 10% zinc oxide sunblock over my shoulder tattoo if I was going to be in the sun. I didn't use any numbing cream or pain medicine, my skin was iced for about 15 minutes before the procedure. I knew going into this it would be a long process so I am trying to be patient through it. Looking at my comparison pictures help because I can already see a huge difference!

day of 3rd treatment

Had my 3rd picosure treatment today. The technician used a combination of different lasers on my shoulder tattoo. For some reason the black middle part of the butterfly is not reacting to the laser. It didn't even frost over when lasered. As anyone else ran into this issue? These pictures were taken 2 hours after my 3rd treatment.

The middle of the butterfly is interesting. I have a line within a dove tattoo that is fading, but significantly less than the rest of it. I have no idea why. I wonder if the tattoo artist went over that area twice. Thanks for sharing your story! Keep us posted!

The technician mentioned the only other time he has seen part of a tattoo not react at all to the laser was someone who potentially had motor oil or another substance mixed into the tattoo ink. I went to a professional place so I hope this is not the case. I'm going to try and continue to be patient with it!

I've never heard that! I went to a professional place, as well. Besides, if I had motor oil in my body, wouldn't I be a better runner?!? Hang in there!

Your tats are responding great! The butterfly part just looks like it was the most dense. Has your dr mentioned trying a different laser?

Thank you! Yes, he used a combination during the last treatment instead of just picosure!

I'm finally seeing the dark part of the butterfly break up a little! I also noticed I always get sore pimples around my lower back tattoo around this time after a treatment.
