4/10/18 - In the beginning of March I decided to get Invisalign. I had a free consultation at SmileBar in Boston, MA and had the pictures of my teeth taken the same day. SmileBar is advanced in technology and I did not have to do the moldings, everything was done digitally (highly recommended). They said it would take a month for my aligners to get in. Fast forward to 4/3/18 and I am ready for my first set of aligners. They put buttons on my teeth to hold my aligners in place (people have said they are sharp, mine we not). The woman told me that I would have some pain seeing I had spacing in my teeth. The first day did not hurt but the next day, oh boy. It has almost been a week since I got my first aligners, which I change every 2 weeks. The pain for the first couple of days was pretty bad. I did not want to eat because I feared putting the aligners back in (so..much..pain!) The pain is not as bad now though, very minor. The first couple of days had me regretting ever getting Invisalign so stick it out! It gets better! SmileBar provided me with chewies. If your dentist does not give you chewies, get them! They make the aligners fit snugly on your teeth which reduces the pain. Also, the aligners may be sharp. I filed them down a bit on the inside with a nail file. Also, it is strange but my gaps in my teeth completely close when I put on the aligners, and open back up when I take them off. Looking forward to the rest of my journey!
