Wondering how others are/have felt one month past reduction. My incisions look great, but still having some pain. Very tender nipples. Going back to work (nurse) in 6 days.

Beautiful results! I hope for the same! My surgery just got approved. I'm a medical assistant, so similar jobs.

I'll be 4 weeks in a few days, I also have breast tenderness, I still don't feel comfortable lifting groceries or laundry. I think I pay for it later... Scrubbed the tub the other day and it kicked my butt back to the couch. My PS told me to take it easy for the whole 6 weeks. I am anxious to work out again but I will take his advice. As long as your job isn't overly physical, it should be ok. Also, I would wear a compression garment, to keep things safe. Good luck!

Good call. Compression sounds the way to go.

BTW, did you end up losing the weight before the surgery?

I'm 6 weeks out today. I still swell at night and have some nipple tenderness. I can definitely tell when I lift too much (grocery bags, laundry baskets, suitcases...). Just last night I was able to sleep on my side for the first time -- with a tiny discomfort.

Post op day 5

jbdec2015
Felt more pain this morning. I think that means I did too much yesterday. Really tried to take it easy today. Incisions were burning at base of breast. No drainage today. Had tiniest amount last night after shower. Kids will be home soon, so going to muster up some energy :)

Post surgical day 3

Feeling good. Pain is improving. Taking less of the narcotic (down to am and pm) then taking Tylenol when needed. I might shower today but the surgeon told me to wait as long as I could. The only thing that truly bothers me is the nipple "zingers". They are uncomfortable and unpredictable. But bearable. Will post pics later today.

So happy for you that your pain is going down. I have heard the "zinging" will stop soon.
I have a friend who is about 4'11 too and she wants the surgery. She said she know longer wants to be called the "Little girl with the Big chest". Were you called that before as well??!

Congratulations I had my surgery 11/30 two days before you. I too suffered terribly for years 5'7" 34H. Still in my bra and bandages honestly it's kind of my safety blanket (for me anyway). I did well yesterday and today not so (?) continued good recovery just please take it easy even if you feel up to doing things..rest. Best of luck to you!

I think it is important to really take it easy. They say that it gets easier but I think it is ok to have bad days. Anesthesia wearing off, sutures, "zingers"... Good luck to you too! This site is amazing for support so if you ever have to check in with me please do, and I will do the same.
