Getting approval took 3 weeks. I have united health care and I have a 250 dollar copay and with remaining deductible, I pay a maximum of $853. Every penny is worth it. I have numbness in my arms, back, neck and shoulder pain. Grooves in my shoulders, expensive bras etc. my surgeons wanted me to lose about 10 pounds before surgery so I don't get the "dog ear" look in my underarm area. I am 4'11 and 153 pounds. Any one have experience with "dog ears"?
Looking forward to my surgery 11/18.

Eager to see your results next month! I saw Dr. Chun for my first consultation in September. I am in the process of losing weight before surgery, too. Have dropped over 40 since last January. Hoping to take off another 25-30 by the spring, when I will see her again. What technique is she using for your BR? We discussed both the anchor technique as well as the Modified Roberson which has no vertical scar. Not sure yet which would be better for me.

Sorry for delay in reply. My initial surgery date was postponed 2 weeks because I had pneumonia. My surgery was this past Wednesday 12/2 and I came home yesterday afternoon with no drains. All went well. I am sore but feeling really good. I took off my bandages this morning and what a difference that made, less pulling and twinging. The nipples are driving me a little buggy, but I was expecting that. Little zingers of pain, but it is a good sign.

What did you do to get yours approved through UHC? I have GEHA-UHC. I wonder if this is the same? I do not have a primary physician and the insurance co. usually want documentation from them. I don't know how to get approved. I am 5'1" 38DDD. I am 45 but my breasts have been extremely large since I was a teenager. I can't take this anymore. I am so tired of the headaches, backaches, & shoulder pain.

And my hubby has been great.
