17 days post-op

Morning,
I'm feeling very good these days and know when I've done too much! I have just been listening to my body which has been working for me. I still cannot see my incisions as they are still covered by the suchers. I will say I cannot stop showing everyone how amazing they look up until this point. They are like a work of art! My doctor was amazing and if anyone in the Boston area is looking for a plastic surgeon I highly recommend her, Dr. Amy Colwell at MGH.

8 days post-op

Morning ladies, So I'm 8 days post-op! Surgery went well and I have already had one follow up appt.! Going into surgery that morning was super scary, not going to lie! I never thought the day was actually going to come that I was finally going to sleep to wake up with a new pair of twins. While they were wheeling me down a cold scary hallway, I kinda had a melt down until I got to our destination and was greeted by one of the doctors. The anesthesiologist that I met at my final destination was able to calm my nerves down, thankfully(even prior to drugs)!

After surgery, while waiting for all of the drugs to come out of me, I was finally able to see my fiancé which was such a relief! All of the nurses that I had contact with were super nice! My fiancé and I had arrived at 5:30am at the hospital and were on our way home at 4:00pm! I was able to go home with lovely drains in, ICK!!! I woke myself up in the middle of the night for about 5 nights to take my meds, make sure to keep crackers by your side. OHHH one more thing that I forgot, I knew after reading everyones posts that constipation would be a possibility, HOLY CRAP that was more painful than the actual surgery. I was taking stool softeners and even miralax with my tea, I wish I had taken magnesium citrate after not going after day 4. The pain and whole experience of constipation is something I do not wish upon ANYONE!!! My only advise is to stay on top of that!

Approved and 12 days out!! EEEEKKKK

I'm starting to have nightmares about my surgery, what an awful feeling! Are my making the right choice is what keeps going through my mind.
Here are all the pros…..
-dropping popcorn down the shirt and finding it later
-No more boob sweat for no reason
-wearing shirts without a "undershirt with a built in shelf bra" for more support
-to be able to wear cute bras
-bathing suits…. AHHHH can't wait to buy "normal" bathing suits
-no more goggly eyes staring straight at em!
-being able to see my feet
-tying my shoes with them not getting in the way
These are just a few of my pros, here are some of my cons…
-will they look good and not be crooked
-will I be able to nurse when the time is ready
-will I regret them
I'm thinking the pros will outweigh my cons! I've bought a wedge pillow cause I'm used to sleeping on my side and have read this helps some woman. Also, I have my stool softeners ready to go. I'm looking forward to cleaning my house prior so I don't have to worry about anything. I will have four days off of work prior to the big day to get everything in order! Wish me luck!!!

Consultation went very well, answered ALL of my questions (I had tons)! The staff in her office were very nice as well, more so in person than over the phone. They all spoke so highly of her which is good to hear.
