I had Mentor saline implants (inframammary, submuscular, 275cc/300cc) installed by Dr. Richard Ehrlichman back in May, 1999. And I am VERY happy to report that after 17.5 years, my breasts still look and FEEL absolutely amazing! (I am 52 years old in the attached photo/selfie and it was taken in November 2016) :-)

I recently thought of removing and replacing them with smaller implants (which would require a "lift"). Since I now live in Los Angeles, I met with a few surgeons in the LA/Beverly Hills area who are known for doing beautiful breast augmentations. And, I have to tell you, that every single one of them were impressed with how great my breasts look - after all this time! One surgeon even went so far as to refer to them as "extremely pretty breasts". Lol!

For now, I've decided not to move forward with a replacement/reduction procedure. But I wanted to let everyone know that Dr. Ehrlichman does great work! He did another surgical procedure on me back then (on a different date) and the result was just as absolutely perfect! He is a talented and solid surgeon. The man is smart, he will l i s t e n to you because he wants to understand what it is that you're concerned about (something, I unfortunately I can't say about most of the surgeons I've met with out here in LA), he THINKS and will view each case differently (no cookie-cutter) and will take time to strategize and prepare in advance of the surgery so that he gets you the best results possible. He is an extremely talented surgeon. I cannot say enough. AND to make the experience all the better, he is probably about the nicest, most genuine and caring surgeon you could ever meet. The man has a heart of gold. I just wish I could get him out here to LA!

I hope Dr. Ehrlichman will be able to see this review, and know that he has one very big fan out here in Los Angeles! :-)

*NOTE: I could not recall what I paid for the surgery, so I filled in the field with what I "think" might have been close to what I paid back then. The RS website would not allow me post my review without including a price.

It's so nice to see a report with someone who has had no problems with implants from more than 15 years!! I got my first BA at 51 four months ago and I'm hoping they last as long as yours. You look amazing!

Thank you! Dr. Ehrlichman did a great job. I'm also very careful about bras. I'm not sure if they even recommend this or not, but I only use bras with underwire. I also make sure that whichever top/cami I wear to bed has enough support so that they don't flop around and/or get pulled, etc. when I'm sleeping. I've recently started to sleep in soft sports bras at night. Nothing too tight because I don't want to "choke" my lymphatic system, but enough support up under the front of the armpits to keep them from moving around too much at night. :-) I saw your photos are yours look great! :-) Just take care of them, and they'll continue to look great years down the road. Enjoy! :-)

you look fantastic!! Would you mind me asking what size bra you wore prior and size you are now? I know that all manufacturers are different but it would be great to know, as a guide. Do you find they changed a lot over the years? thanks

thank you for posting.

I used to be an A cup, and I'm now a DD (but after I first got my implants, I believe I was a D, but with time...) . I'm unsure about how implants have changed over the years, but I do know that the ones I have have a smooth exterior, they're round, saline-filled, and I did not massage them after surgery. I haven't had any capsular contracture either. In the past, I think I recall reading somewhere that implants with a textured exterior tend to trigger capsular contracture. But I could be wrong. But mine are smooth and round. If I have them replaced, I would stick with the round, smooth implants. Before my surgery, I had asked Dr. E to place them so that they "pop out" a little on the side (sexy-like). ;-) Fortunately, my torso is small enough that he could do this without creating a large rib cage big gap between my breasts. :-)

Do you have a beginning photo? They look perfect

Unfortunately, I don't. Wish I did!

I recall, though, that my natural breast cup size was between an A and a B at the time I had the implants installed.

I too had saline implants for 13 years and recently switched to silicone because I wanted larger and something different. Yours look great! My docs too thought I was silly wanting to replace but I wanted larger. Lol! I went from 400 cc to 600cc. It just shows a great surgeon can give great long term results

Yes, that's for sure! How are you liking the silicone? Aside from the size difference, do they feel very different (to wear and to touch)?
January 11, 2017
I love them!! They feel like real boobs. I don't have the rippling like I did with the saline. They do feel real to the touch. They do feel a little heavy due to the size but all n all I'm glad I went with them this time. I loved my saline I had before but honestly I'm pretty impressed and happy with the silicone. The biggest reason I went with the silicone was because my surgeon felt with the v size I wanted the silicone would conform much better to my body being that I'm very petite. He was afraid the saline may not fit right at that size to my body . if that makes sense lol!
