I've been meaning to write a post for a long time but I wanted to wait to meet Dr. D first . I finally met him on 4/30 for my pre-op in the Boston office. I've been interested in BBL for awhile now, but I wasn't sure if it's for me. I'm so glad I found Real-Self. There's so much information here and it's helped me decide to move forward. RS also helped me find and pick Dr. D
04/30 Pre-Op: My appointment was at noon. I had an early lunch around 11 and I got in 15 mins before my appointment. The girls informed me right away that Dr. D will be running late, he was still in the OR. I ended up seeing him about an hour 15 minutes later. This was ok with me because if that was me in the OR with him, I'd like him to take his time on me too. I wasn't in a rush cause I took the afternoon off anyways :) Time flew while I was signing papers and reading information in the portfolio. By the time I was done reading everything it was time for me to go in. I was lucky to find parking right in front of the office, so I ran down once to add more money to the pay meter.
Here's my BBL timeline w/ Dr. D so far:
03/30 - requested consultation
04/02 - phone consultation
04/03 - booked dates for pre-op, Sx and post-op
04/09 - paid deposit
04/30 - pre-op, paid for procedure & hospital fees
Anticipated Dates:
05/04 - pay for anesthesia, drop-off/pick-up prescription
05/06 - Sx day
05/07 - discharge and go home
05/12 - post-op
Cost breakdown:
Procedure - $10,366
Hospital Fee - $584
Anesthesia - $ 950
Overnight Hospital Stay - $800
Dr. D said that I will be staying overnight at St. Elizabeth, so that I can be monitored. He will be doing aggressive lipo. We're talking several liters overall. I don't mind paying the extra fee for me to be in good hands. My health is most important to me and I trust his expert suggestion.
Background on Me: I am 31, 5'6", 210lbs, no children, non-smoker, no health issues and this will be my first surgery. I have a very flat, awkward V-shaped butt. I carry most of my weight in my midsection.

I've been calm and cool over the last few weeks. I think I kept my composure this long because my parents, siblings and fiancé has been very supportive. I haven't said much to anyone. Not to friends or work. I kept it between my family. but something about today is making me a little jittery. I think it's cause I just got off the phone with the hospital. they called to do the pre-op phone screening. speaking with them makes this very real. it's a reminder that the day is near and my nerves are cranking. I'll be running around today and tomorrow, picking up some last minute stuff and putting in my scripts. my fiancé will take some time off work to stay by me and my mom will be over for a few days to help care and cook. my sisters said they'll take shifts if I need more help. I love them. #BestFamilyEver

I dropped off and picked up my prescription during lunch today. Got everything done at Wegmans thanks to their pharmacy and food court. Antibiotic was 100% covered by the insurance company and the Percocet was just $5. One more thing off the list. :)

Good luck and God speed, I'll be following your journey. I've narrowed my surgeons down to 2, one of them being Del Vecchio...
