Rescheduled

My surgery was rescheduled for October. It's a bummer that I have to wait, but time flies and it'll be here before I know it.

Hello everyone, I'm ready to stop lurking and jump...

Hello everyone, I'm ready to stop lurking and jump in!
Though I've been dreaming about plastic surgery for several years, I only began taking this idea seriously around Thanksgiving, which was only 3 and a half months ago. That's also when a friend referred me to this site. I've read some wonderful success stories and seen some jaw dropping before and after pics!

My story goes like this:
I'm 40 years old with no children. I have gained and lost over 100 pounds twice! I did it with diet and exercise both times. The first time I went from 278 down to 171, a loss of 107 pounds. I gradually put it all back on over the next decade, PLUS 4 more pounds! I was soon diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and with the accompanying depression I just neglected to maintain my weight. The second time dieting, I went from 282 down to my current 167, a loss of 115 pounds. I have been stable at this weight for several months.

It's beyond frustrating to lose so much weight and still see that same fat girl in the mirror. I look the same, just a smaller version. In fact, the more I lose the worse I look. My skin sags lower and those hideous wrinkles deepen. (Unless I'm dressed, then I look great!) Somebody told me that there's a term for my condition, it's called "skinny fat" ...which sounds accurate to me. I see plastic surgery as the final step in my weightloss journey. I know it's the only solution.

I have already had a consult with a PS who has rave reviews! "Everyone" loves him, his work, and his staff. I'm all about consumer reviews. I won't even buy a toaster without reading it's reviews, I'm not even kidding! It was a simple decision on who to consult with. ("Everyone" was right!) It was determined that I would best benefit from a lower body lift. I also want/need a breast lift. My surgery is scheduled for April 19th! The surgery will be 7 hours, that's a long time! Yikes!

I'm eager to chat! I have questions that range from ...what clothes should I bring with me to wear home? I have read that a button down shirt is best, which makes sense! I wonder about bottoms. With an incision that goes around my entire trunk makes me think that drawstring sweats would be best? I'm thinking I could hike them up like Steve Urkel and tie them around my waist (?) I would like to discuss compression garments (among many other things) I'm curious about spanx and the cut out crotch area. So many different likes and dislikes, preferences.

No photos yet, but of course I'll post some soon.
