Ever since I was ten years old, I was self...
Ever since I was ten years old, I was self conscious about my puffy eyes. As I grew up, I tried everything to improve them: creams, cold presses, tea bags, etc. but nothing could help their appearance since they were just naturally there. It made me absolutely miserable. I was young, yet everyone would constantly ask me if I looked tired. It really took a toll on many parts of my life.
Surgery was something I had considered for a few years, and in 2015 I finally made the decision to go ahead and do it. I had a few consultations, one of which was with Dr. Kapadia at his Wellesley office. I really liked him straight off the bat- he was was friendly, informative, and realistic about my expectations. It didn't hurt that my mom went in to see him a week or two later, and really liked him as well. If my mom approves, then we're set! :)
After meeting with Dr. Kapadia in person, talking with family members, and re-reading all of the incredible reviews from previous patients, I felt confident in choose him as my doctor, and I set a date not too far in the future for my lower blepharoplasty surgery. The plan was to have the surgery, and then about four weeks later, finish everything up with fillers. I heard from Dr. Kapadia's office a few times leading up to the surgery to help me prep for the big day. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was so incredible nice and helpful, and it just made me that much more confident I had made the right decision.
The surgery was performed at Tufts. Everything went so smoothly that day. Every person I came in contact with was kind and patient, and made me feel very much at ease. I really had no nerves at that point, I was just excited to finally fix the thing that made me miserable for so many years! Dr. Kapadia came to check in on me before they wheeled me into the surgery room, as well as once the surgery was complete. Everything went exactly to plan, and I went home to rest and heal. I did really well with the bruising and the swelling, and within a week I was back out in the real world and felt fairly comfortable with foundation and concealer on. By two weeks I felt like I looked totally normal... well, not normal, I looked healed and SO much better than I did before! My bags were GONE! It was such a freeing feeling.
I went back in for a check up about a week or two post op, and Dr. Kapadia was extremely happy with the results so far. I made an appointment to get the fillers, which would be the finishing touch on this process.
I just went in for the fillers about five days ago, and though I was thrilled with how I looked already, I must admit that the fillers were the icing on the cake! It differs for everyone, but I had very minimal bruising and swelling.
I can't recommend Dr. Kapadia enough. I am incredibly happy that I chose him for my lower blepharoplasty surgery. He's completely changed how I feel about myself!
