I spent a few months 'stalking' this site before I got up the courage to go to my PCM to request an Insurance paid Breast Reduction. From the time that my doctor sent the referral to the insurance company to my surgery was 11 weeks, and that is only because of my travel schedule and getting my 'ideal' date.
Once I got my approval, I made my appointment with Dr. Chacon and when I met him in person, knew that he would be the one to do my surgery. He is just such a fun, sensitive, compassionate, professional Plastic Surgeon. He made me feel so comfortable in the room, even when I was stark naked and being drawn on. I mean, who laughs so hard the morning of surgery while being made a map?
So, surgery was on Tuesday the 17th of May and was about 8 hours long. Surgery went well, the surgery center was awesome. Got there at 5.30am, and right in to pre-op where the nurses made me feel so comfortable, even in my fear. After feeling well enough to go home, my husband put me in the car for the short 5 min drive home.
I did rent a fully electric hospital bed for a month, and I am SO glad that I did. It has been the best option ever!
The morning after surgery I had an appointment with my PS for garment and dressing changes, and as sick as I was (I get so very sick from surgery) the office made me feel awesome. My husband grabbed a few photos of my swollen self and I love the look so far.
Today is day 5 and every day gets a little better, you get a little stronger and feel like you can do a little more. I stopped narcotics on day 2, only taking 1000mg of Tylenol every 8 hours for pain (which is more of discomfort, unless you cough or sneeze- that hurts regardless of your pills!)
I go back for PO appointment #2 tomorrow to have another bandage change and removal of the BB and Lipo stitches... maybe even lose one of the 2 drains that is not putting out much.
Until tomorrow!
Today is 5 days PO and I am feeling pretty good.

Post Op #2
San Diego MomMay 25, 2016
Yesterday I had my PO #2, (PO Day 6) everything went well. Had the one stitch taken out of my BB. I also chose to keep both drains in, in hopes that they will both come out quicker this way. My incisions are covered with tape and will stay covered until my PS tells me otherwise lol. I also went down one size in my CG and feel very 'contained' Made my appt for PO #3 and will play it by ear for drain removal. I also scheduled my facial and face waxing (which is part of Divino's aftercare perk) 4 60 min facials (once a month for 4 months) and brow, lip, chin waxing.
I am a bit apprehensive? about attaching photos, so here is my belly button today, which I am in love with :)

Your belly button looks great. I'm getting my mommy makeover tomorrow. I'm so excited, I hope my recovery is as smooth as yours. Congratulations!

Good luck! I promise you will feel like @#@$% the first 2 days, and then every day you will start feeling 100x better than the day before. I am excited to see your progress :)
If you have to sneeze, don't
If you have to clear your throat and cough, hold a pillow on your belly and practice your lamaze :)

Oh my YES the pillow. That coughing is terrible!!!! First 2 days were crap. I'm on day #6 now and I have drain pain. No pain meds but Tylenol since day 3.

And sneezing is worse! I switched back to Motrin, my body seems to respond better to it. I got my drains pulled today, I am super pleased about that!

Wow - you look great! Sounds like you are healing really quickly too. Do you have any tips? Foods/vitamins/creams, etc.? Also, what compression garments are you wearing? The bra in the photo looks supportive but comfortable. I would love to order something similar!

The bra is just the surgical one that my PS uses... It is super comfy! I bought this (from my PS) http://www.contemporarydesigninc.com/store/pid-423-sc-250-above-the_knee-bodyshaper.html and this http://www.amazon.com/Postpartum-Support-Recovery-pelvis-Shapewear/dp/B00T2WBJJ8/ to replace the white binder from the PS
I started Quercetin/Bromelain and Arnica tabs 7 days prior, My PS does all the tape/bandage changes himself, so I am not doing any special creams, etc. I have found that my body prefers Ibuprofen over Acetaminophen, so I am sticking with that. I stopped my narcs right away, but made sure to keep on the zofran for several days, which I think helped tons.
Thanks for the compliment...

Thanks for the reply and information. I looked up both of the garments you suggested. Do you wear them both at the same time? The over the knee garment first and then postpartum support over the top or separately? Unfortunately, I am have to wait until Fall for my breast lift/TT/lipo because of work but I want to get everything I need. This site is so wonderful because I don't have my preop until mid August and I have so many questions! So excited and wish I could talk about it but trying not to tell anyone except my husband so thank you for any advice! I'll be following your journey. Happy healing!

I wear them all currently. I feel secure in them and do not want to 'ruin' what my PS did. I do sleep with only the bra/CG right now, and after 6 weeks will go to just the pp suport binder to keep the swelling down and for shaping.
But yes, Bra from surgery stays on always, then CG, then binder. :) Some might say it is overkill, but I want optimal results.
I also rented a hospital bed for the month and pretty much try to stay as lazy as possible in my recovery (which I highly suggest) I am not trying to win a 5k, I am just trying to complete the marathon of post op...
I did not tell anyone until a week prior, then I just tagged myself at the surgeons office... I was SHOCKED how many of my friends have had tummy tucks, they just do not talk about it!

Love it - all three at the same time! Thanks! I think I will do something similar. Like you said - may be a little much but want the best results possible. Last question - I promise!! What are you wearing to hide all of these devices? Lol! Can you can tuck the drains into CG or waist band of yoga pants and larger sweatshirt? Just curious best way to try to fly under the radar when you have to be in public after the first week or so at home. Thanks and rest well!

You're looking fabulous! And that belly button, cute.

I just wear yoga pants and a tank at home, the drains are hard to hide, and would be all about the location that they are placed. My drains were pubic based, my friends were on her hips. I think the pubic based ones were 100x better than hers and she agrees. But going out, I did not really give much thought, people saw me toddling like an old lady with my drains attached to my wait band and wished me well
