I recently had my surgery with Dr Nettle in the last couple of months, and I have nothing but positive feedback for him and the whole team at Silkwood Medical. I had gone to see a few doctors about my chin, which didn't grow out completely, and had a fatty neck and I was left feeling unsure if I should get the surgery as I just didn't have the confidence I that what I was going to get would be right. I felt rushed and under informed.
I had an appointment with Dr Nettle, that I was going to cancel however I decided to go and see what he would say. From the initial consult, he took me though every possibility and procedure I could get done, but explained to me what he recommends I should do. He listened to all my feedback and concerns and had answers and explanations for me. For me after the consult, it was a no brainer that I decided I would do the surgery and which doctor I would choose.
From the time I booked the surgery for a month or two later, the whole process was simple and easy and seamless. We went through all the sizes that I could have put in for my chin implant, but decided on the most natural looking one that complimented my face. On the day of the surgery he came in and took me through the procedure and what he would be doing. I felt confident and in good hands - not nervous at all!
Following the procedure, I was expecting to be bruised and swollen beyond belief but I wasn't. It was a simple and virtually not painful. Bruising was extremely minimal as was swelling - and the best thing about it all was that I looked completely natural. I didn't look like someone who had surgery on their face - people only have commented to me that I have lost weight and how much younger I look!
The weeks following the surgery were fine. You have to have liquid food / soft food diet, and your jaw feels a little numb but day by day it gets better and you heal. It takes some tome to get used to not having full ja movement for the first week or two, but it is completely normal and heals back to normal after about a month. The incision is small and sits under your chin - mine has now almost completely healed and not noticeable at all!
The team at Silkwood constantly called me, including the doctor to see how I was tracking how I was progressing with my healing - they were always on standby if I had any questions at all.
Two months on post surgery and I feel great and look great. Healing has completely settled, have full movement of my jaw and no numbness and best of all - I have a chin and no chin / neck fat!
