My motivation for this surgery was to repair existing damage after childbirth and to be able to resume my career in the performing arts. The major concern I had was recovery time as I have small children but at the end of it I would resume my quality of life. I had a problem with my tummy as I seem to have stretched out my muscles and had lots of loose skin. In my field of work appearance is paramount if you are to receive work. I also had the issue with my breasts they seem to be flat and I had no cleavage. The condition in my breasts was later labelled as symmastia. My inner and outer thighs had been bothering me ever since puberty. It was very hard to find clothes that fit and I was always self conscience of it. If I was to undergo these procedures I would have a fresh start at my dance career and I will no longer worry about the body issues that have plagued me since my teenage years.

Thanks for sharing on RealSelf! What would you say has been the hardest part of your recovery?

The hardest part honestly was the first day. Getting into my compression garment was a bit of a challenge. It was then i got to get out of bed and be somewhat mobile it made me feel so much better. I was out of hospital within two days and back home. I still did need pain medication as i had multiple procedures and was motivating myself to walk a little each day .
