Male Chest - Totally Worth It - Boise

I am a 40 year old male who has fought with chest issues my whole life. At 6'1" and 160-170 pounds, I was never technically overweight, but what fat I did have I carried in my lower chest. I tried everything I could before considering lipo, including dieting down to the lowest weight possible and working out 2 hours a day. After I had made my choice, I researched every procedure and spent 2 years interviewing surgeons. Finally, I had VASER/Smart Lip done on my chest on Saturday October 2 of this year (2010).
The experience was uncomfortable, but not painful (mostly because I don't think that I took my Halcyon at the right time). The doctor removed 500 cc from my chest area (250 cc from each breast) during a procedure that lasted about one and a half hours total. I did not take any of the pain meds prescribed and instead used Advil to manage any discomfort.
I changed my bandages 3 times the first day and then only daily after that until Monday, when I had the strips applied. The first few days I was very swollen, but I was up and around within hours after the procedure. I was never nauseous, and never experienced any of the light-headedness often mentioned in some of the reviews. BY Monday I was riding my bike and even doing light cardio at the gym.
The one negative for me the first week was the compression vest. The one that the doctor gave me was too tight in my underarms and left welts. I adjusted the shirt and even enlarged the arm holes, but without relief. I looked for a compression vest here in Boise without success. Eventually I ordered one online, only to have it also be much too tight. Based on my experience, I would urge anyone thinking about chest reduction to verify that the compression garments you will be given fit comfortably and perhaps even to buy a spare.
I began to see results almost immediately. The shape of my pec is much more defined now, and my nipples (although not entirely flat) are much less puffy. In the second week I have experienced some minor discomfort (random soreness) and a lot of itching, but otherwise I am still doing great. I noticed that i have a small lump near the incision mark on my left pec, but it is not visible.
So far so good. I asked my wife how she felt about it thus far and she can only say that she wishes we had done it sooner.

Updated with photos 10/19/10 I just started...
I just started having a burning pain in my upper pecs, but i think it may be due to starting some exercise too early. I'm cutting way back on anything that moves my upper body. The pain was the worst it has ever been. It felt like my chest was going to be bleeding if i took my shirt off, but it wasn't even flushed.
I'm glad you had an overall positive experience with this! Any interest in posting before and after pics?
