Would NOT Recommend

I would give this doctor 0 stars if I could. I had been experiencing double vision, blurred vision, and difficulty focusing for months and was specifically recommended to her because I was told she frequently dealt with these symptoms.

At my appointment, she immediately started trying to find me a prescription, even though that wasn’t why I was there. After I explained my symptoms, she repeatedly told me that what I was experiencing “wasn’t possible.” She then asked what drugs I had taken that weekend, despite me explaining that these symptoms had been happening for months and that I don’t use drugs. When I asked if she thought it could be neurological, she laughed in my face.

I left feeling completely dismissed and uncomfortable. She later called me back and said she had spoken with a family member in neurology, who told her my symptoms were likely neurological and recommended that I get an MRI. I ultimately was diagnosed with a brain cyst.

I understand that doctors can’t always immediately determine the cause of unusual symptoms, but dismissing me, making assumptions about drug use, and laughing when I raised a legitimate concern was extremely unprofessional. Patients deserve to be listened to and taken seriously. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend this doctor.
