In Jan 2005 l had Mcghan saline implants 400cc. I have cc on right side. The last 2.5 years I have been having health issues. Neck and back pain, achy joints,cronic muscle spasms in my left shoulder area (prescribed muscle relaxers), pain that radiates upthe left side of my neck, head, down my left arm &pit. Numbness in my left arm, hair loss, foggy brain, dry eyes, dry mouth, fatigue and lastly lack of sex drive. I think that covers it! I have been to the doctor, chiropractor several times a month as well as a massage therapist. It wasn't until two day ago that I started doing research on the internet when Imade the connection to my implants. Iam scheduled for a consultation for explant on 3/19/13. Thanks to all the women who have shared their stories.

Well, had my consult today. Not impressed with ps. He said that there is no way my implants are causing my problems. He said that my problems are common for a woman my age (44) and that removing the implants won't matter. He did acknowledge that because I have large breast they could be contributing to my neck and back problems and not the implants. Told me that if I just have an explant my breast will be saggy and I probably won't be happy with them. Suggested that I have them deflated and see if I liked them and if my neck and back problems go away. Suggested I go with a smaller implant or a lift if I was set on no new implant, which I am. Told him I just wanted an explant. The nurse came in and gave me a price $2400 then he came in and said that she made a mistake and that it was $2950 which was really less than what he normally does it for but since she made a mistake I am benefiting! He can do the explant next week. Any thoughts? Should I have another consult? I already paid this guy $60. I really want this done as soon as possible. Any advice? Also told insurance rarely covers, even if someone has breast cancer

Well, I'm 44 and not having any problems like that. I find it annoying that the doctor attributed it to your age. I'm glad if you really want this explant that you're sticking to your guns. Your doctor doesn't sound like the most supportive. I guess you have to weight having it done quickly to having someone do it who has a better bedside manner. Do you like the doctor's work? Did he have photos he could show you?

Thanks for your support. I was extremely annoyed with the ps but allowed him to perform the explant. I feel so much better! I feel lighter, healthier and my neck and back pain are gone. He did a good job. I have been trying to upload before and after photos but am having trouble. Are you having an explant?

I had many of the same symptoms, and was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, which is VERY common in 40+ aged women. Maybe you could google it? Anyway, that was BEFORE any surgery. Bloodwork confirmed the auto immune marker. I hope that your problems disappear once you are explanted. Best wishes for improved health and speedy recovery!!!

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I feel so much better since the explant. My back and neck pain are gone! I feel so much lighter and healthier. Have you had your explant yet ? I wish you good health and happiness!

Had another consultant and loved the ps but his cost is $1700 more than 1st ps, which I can't afford. I am scheduled for explant only on 3/28/13 and can't wait. A little nervous though.
