After researching Dr. Pleatman, and various other reasons, I chose him (and luckily he also chose me) for my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery. I had only spoke to him and his staff through email and via phone conversation and they were always very responsive and very timely to respond to my questions. I scheduled my surgery for 6 months, March 17, 2016. This would give me emought time to save the money for surgery being a self pay patient. On December 31st I had saved enough and got my financing complete to pay for surgery. I called that day to ask if I could move my surgery up and just like that I was scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks, February 14, 2016. *Best (and scariest) day of my life*.

So here is the deal with Dr. Pleatman. He's nice. More importantly, he is HONEST. He has no problem telling you the truth. He joked around with us some and he was also serious and he was willing to answer any question we threw at him. He even answered many questions we didn't ask! I loved that! So...in light of his honesty, I am also going to be brutally honest. He is kindove a nerdy doctor. He is sooo nice but he is that real smart nerdy type...the ones you wanted to cheat off of in school but they covered their perfect paper so you couldn't see it. :) Ok, so he is also very calm. Why because he is confident as hell. Excuse my language but it is what it is. So all this "bedside manner" stuff is because some people don't get that he's this nice nerdy skillled dude and it makes him a little awkward. But i like awkward and more importantly i love skilled! I liked talking to him and I like his jokes and my husband thought he was great and we have nothing but good things to say about him...we 'got him'. I don't think everyone does.

Ok -- Here is the important part. --- If you read nothing else..read this. I am being prepped at the hospital for surgery and the nurses/staff/other Doctors have a lot of respect for Dr. Pleatman. But it was this moment that calmed my nerves. I said "I am really nervous. I have only had one other surgery and I was awake" This Doctor gave me the crazy eye and without hesitation and total confidence firmly and loudly says "OH DON'T BE!!! DR. PLEATMAN IS A MASTER AT THIS! YOU ARE GOING TO BE 100% FINE. HONEY HE IS A MASTER AT THIS SURGERY!!!" This wasn't just anyone...this was a peer..a Doctor. I felt 100% better and calm.

My experience from surgery. I woke up and had zero pain. OK...I wrote that off as still being under anesthesia. Hours later...no pain....hours later...no pain. Here's the deal. I had NO PAIN and NO BRUISES...EVER! I had gas pain, yes, but I had not pain at my incision sites or other. I had minor discomforts later that felt like pulling under the incision but it was annoying, not painful. I only had pain medicine twice. Listen...NOT for pain...but I wanted to get some good sleep; I had a long car ride home the next day. I had an awesome night sleep and I even slept on my side with a pillow under my tummy. The next time I had pain meds was for the car ride home, as a precautionary measure...again, NOT for pain. I never ever filled my pain medicine prescription. I never ever had bruising. My opinion..Dr. Pleatman is a MASTER at what he does. I don't care how he acts, I don't care what his personality is...I care about his skill and I care about his response time to my questions and I can't rank him high enough.

OK - I have to say this as well. The hospital staff!!!! I seriously want to send them flowers. They are sooo nice and so sweet!!! They would chit chat with us, never made us feel like we were asking for too much or bothering them...I am telling you we loved them ladies!!! I really really really felt like I was in great hands. There was only ONE lady that came in to take my blood pressure and temperature that was ... well... i can't say rude as heck because she never said anything to be rude. I would say "good morning" at 3:00am when she was in there to wake me up for vitals and i wanted to snarl but was always always polite and smiled and nothing. When she was done I always said "thank you" and nothing...nothing...not a peep...not a smile...maybe a moan...that was about it. But I don't know what was going on in her life and I refuse to judge her and she couldn't have spoiled it for the rest of the hospital staff if she had tried.! I was comfortable, well taken care of and in good company! :)

So that's my personal experience and I would not change one thing about it. *insert happy dance*

Thank you Dr. Pleatman, Carry and G2 hospital staff. :)

Hi I went to Dr. Pleatman for my VS. He is truly a wonderful Doctor. I too came from out of town with my family and stayed a week at the hotel recommended by Dr. Pleatmans ofice. I had the same experience as you did. I am not too into posting but love to read others experiences. I had my surgery in 2014. I just had a tuumy tuck a couple of weeks ago. It was very painful. But I love the results. I want to get my arms done next. I am not going to do too much to myself because I am almost 59. Get ready for your journey to the slim side. Its so exciting! Good luck!

I truly had a great experience so i was happy to share! OHH congratulations on your plastic surgery!!! Im a little jealous. :) A friend of mine had a tummy tuck so i have seen, through her, how painful they can be. But she would also do it again in a heartbeat!!! I am 40 and my skin is definitely changing so I can see myself having plastic surgery consultations in my future. Congrats again! Take care!

I completely agree with you, he is the nerdy type which I happen to love!!!! He is confident, very! But it’s a quiet confidence which makes me like him even more. He’s not arrogant and doesn’t talk down about other surgeons. I’m glad he did my surgery and I could not thank him nor Cari enough for their open door policy....for any question at all. I would refer him and only him to everyone I know that’s interested.
