Steroid injections

I've been using silicone sheeting/gel religiously for the past 4-5 weeks. It has improved the thickness of my scars somewhat but I have some areas that are still raised. They are not keloids - just hypertrophic scars. They feel kind of ropey. I saw my PS yesterday and we decided to do the steroid injections into those areas. Holy crap! I'm not going lie - it was not enjoyable. I received a total of 30-35 injections. The tummy tuck area and belly button scars didn't hurt at all. Those areas are still pretty numb. I only needed the middle part of the tummy tuck scar injected. But the breasts are sensitive!! My PS and his nurse are really nice and did their best to get it over with as quick as possible. It can be repeated monthly x3 if needed. Let's hope it's not needed! My breast scars have been really sensitive/itchy - it's hard to describe the feeling. Maybe the steroid will help that too. So I will keep using the silicone sheeting/gl treatments and go back in month.
Other than yesterday's fun things have been pretty normal. I feel really good most of the time. Occasional swelling and tightness but not bad. Usually only a problem when I exercise really hard. Core work is getting easier but I'm still not back to my pre-surgery level. I'm having a great summer and I hope you are too!

The areas are definitely flatter. Hopefully that's all I'll need!

It really is the worst at first! I thought with my new tight core, it would be cake, but ouch is right! It does get better though as time goes on
