Im hoping to feel comfortable in my own skin. I have debated whether to go through with this procedure for a while now. I am having Breast Augmentation, tummy tuck and lipo to my flanks. I am very scared, but think I can manage. I am also a stay at home mother with 5 children. The youngest 2 being Pre -K.

Hi there, I am sure you will have a wonderful result!! I had my tummy tuck 8 hours ago, and I can't sleep!!
I am not feeling the pain yet, as had a spinal block and they are dosing me up with pain killers.. I feel really good, but cant pee at the moment!! So annoying!! I just wanted to say I am horrendous with my nerves!! I was worried that my operation would be cancelled because of my blood pressure!! Normally its 140/80 but before op it was 145/100!!! I can feel the adrenaline and stress just flush through my body. I know its my nerves and try to breathe and relax my body... I just feel my heart race quicken, and feel a bit light headed, also feel the clench of my jaw, where muscles are so tight!!
Anyway I had operation this evening 5.30 - 8.30pm (last one on the list!! Typical!! Just my luck!! Hahaha!!). I signed consent form, with surgeon, and met anaesthetist. They were brilliant, and then gave me a tamazipam tablet. Well, within 10 minutes, I felt so unbelievably relaxed!! I actually went to sleep for a few hours, and woke up about 4.30pm, still feeling drowsy but relaxed and conscious. My heart rate normal!! I walked down to the preoperative room absolutely fine!!
I am so pleased with my results so far!! My pain is under control at the moment, and I just need to pee. That's the only problem, but I was able to walk around to the restroom in my room, and got myself on and off my bed without too much help..
Please try and rest, and look forward to your new tummy!! I cant believe I have had it done!! I am absolutely elated!! But just need to pee!!! Then I will be happy!! Best wishes, Helena [RS bleep]

I have been so restless at night. And I keep dreaming about surgery. Although in each dream they do a different surgery then they are suppose too. Or else I dream that I show up late and they don't do it!

The closer it gets, the more nervous I am. I had a tonsillectomy last year, and that is the worst pain I have ever been through. As long as this is less then that, It should be ok. I did talk to someone who said the tonsillectomy was a thousand times worse then a tummy tuck, just that recovery on tummy tuck takes longer. Anyone else have both done?

Not sure how a tonsillectomy is worse than a tummy tuck. I had a tonsillectomy as an adult too and it was pretty bad but a tummy tuck is much harsher and a much longer, tougher and much more painful recovery. Good luck to you!

Ill find out soon enough! I did talk to another person in a forum and they said the same, that tonsillectomy was worse. Im hoping so. I would of rather given birth again then have the pain of the tonsillectomy! lol
Good for you for making this decision for yourself. I'd say you deserve some "you" time after having five kids! May I suggest checking in your surgery date on this calendar so you can get support from other community members getting procedures done around the same time?
