Dr hedden and his staff were amazing at calming my nerves the day of the procedure ! While the first day was quite painful I'm amazed at how much I am able to move around and how little meds I need! So far all is good and I go back Friday for a follow up . I know it's a process and I am going to take it a day at a time !

I am sorry you felt the wait times were too long and I did not spend enough time with you. I know there is no way to make sure everyone feels enough time was spent with them. I have been doing this so long and we do so many that sometimes everything just seems straight forward to me as to what you need to get the best result that I do not see many issues that would be of concern for someone's particular case. I know this translates to the patient as not enough time spent. I do apologize for that. I do make sure before I ever leave a room in a consult to ask every patient if they had any additional questions because I want all their questions answered. Again I am sorry you felt no enough time was spent with you.

Aftercare is as important as surgery itself!

So today after gradual swelling for 2 weeks I went to see my ps dr hedden in Birmingham Alabama. I also had a large scar tissue area in right breast . The nurse says " yea something isn't right you are swollen ". Then doc comes in he tells me a tummy tuck doesn't fix weight issues I need to manage my weight and lose some . ( well no crap) keep in mind last visit he told me I looked great but not to lose too much weight. I tell him my stomach was flat and now I look pregnant. His response "well your saying I did something wrong and this procedure was done correctly" my reply" I never said that I'm asking what's wrong " after this he proceeded to tell me I have to stay motivated and do cardio ( oh yea I told him I hiked 10 miles yesterday) but he says I'm not active and then ask why I'm crying when I say he isn't listening he gets ultrasound out for 30 sec and tells me there's edema and I need to wear garmets which I show him exactly what I use he said they were good. He pulls up my pic and shows me before and after yes those looked great but now I'm swelling and hurting ... He shows me edema on sonogram, tells me there's lots of edema He then says well I can I can stick a needle in it maybe there is blood in there ... No I don't think so if you won't listen I'm not allowing you to stick a needle in my stomach!!! Instead of immediately telling me a tummy tuck doesn't manage weight how about you ask if I injured myself ?, have I been exercising , when it started or even if it hurts cause none of that was ask. I never said he did anything in the procedure wrong when I was there for my one month my stomach was super flat and looked amazing , but in the last weeks something happened . Why not have compassion ? Why not see why your pt would be upset after swelling ? I will admit after he starting telling me I had to manage my weight and how I look better than my before I stopped listening. It's not about if I look better it's about the fact that something is going on and I wanted him to listen to me and whatever the cause come up with a plan to fix it not be defensive thinking I was accusing him of doing something wrong ! I left in tears! No matter how well you do surgery if aftercare is slacking so are you. I PD good money and you don't care when something is wrong !!! I have never been talked to in such a demeaning manner ! And you tell me I need to do cardio ??? What is hiking and walking ??? Anyone had any similar issues I am just crushed he acted that way
