I am having a breast reduction in July and I would like to know who out there has had one and how you feel about the surgery? Was it worth it? Were you in alot of pain after. How long before you went back to work? Did you have to take additional time off other then what you took. Would you to it all over again if you knew now what you knew then? My doctor said there is only a certainly percentage of muscle and fat tissue that the insurance will allow them to take off no more no less which I want to say is 500G. Is this true and anyone unhappy with your results?

Hi Sherri I am a little over 6 weeks postop. I went from a 40G to a 36D. I think it is definitely worth it! I am 54 years old . And I did great in recovering . Not one problem :-) My pain has been very minimal . I stopped taking pain meds after I think day 4 and took tylenol if I felt achy. I never had a problem with anesthesia. I had a lb and a half taken from each breast . But that was because taking more would have compromised the blood flow to my nipples. But there are plenty of ladies here on RS that their dr. took over 1000 out of each breast. I don't work outside my home but most ladies have went back at week 2 or 3 .And that's according to their job description . I would definitely do it over again :-) :-) :-) I had an amazing dr and he cared about me and my breasts . My pain level was a 4 at the most . I highly recommend this surgery if you're ready to be smaller . It has changed my life . Best of luck . I hope this helped.

Thank you so much for the confidence boost. To be honest I have no idea what size I am because I never had a bra that fit properly to begin with but guessing I would say a 36ddd or maybe a E. I am so excited about the surgery but at the same time nervous. I have had these things for so long I wont know how to act but I can tell you I am so excited to see the results and my first shopping trip will be to victoria secret for a nice sexy bra. I by the way just turned 50 so this will be a big change for me but I know I am ready. Thanks again ....

I'm in a sports bra from Walmart!! It is so great!! Still have to wear one 24/7 but will be sized on June 26th and can't wait to find out! I'm smaller than I thought I would be but I don't care. Lol, I can always buy a cute padded bra!! I used to have to wedge rags under my bra and between my boobs to keep them from sweating and making a sore. Now the don't really touch any other skin areas. I can't wait to try to go bra less! I have slept in my bras for 25 years!!

I was told that the insurance I have BC/BS that they can only take 500 or 550g no more no less. I am hoping that I wont be disappointed with my size when they complete the surgery because i would love to go to a c cup which is what my sister did I think that is a perfect size not to big not to small. Does anyone else have BC/BS and their dr told them that?????????
