So here it goes, I decided to go out of state...

WORTH IT$4,000

So here it goes, I decided to go out of state because in NY BA go for at least $6500. I can think of a lot of other things to do with my money then spend it on boobs (no less the guilt id have for spending so much and having two kids). So i researched for the past two years and found Dr. Hedden, who has great reviews for his out of state BA. Even with travel costs its only $3800 all together or $4600 for silicone (and thats including hotel, car rental, two plane tickets for me and my bf). Only thing Im indecisive about now is silicone or saline, I only have 18 days so I better choose soon. I want the full look on top (high polar) and have seen saline creates this more but silicone is better on thin women like me. Plus its $800 more for silicone (I would never finance plastic sugery). I go for my CBC blood test on Thursday or Friday. They told me I cant take Tramadol pre-surgery that I take for neuropathy but That makes no sense, as a RN I know Tramadol has no bleeding factors involved

Congrats on your decision to get a BA!! I just had mine on 12/26 and I cannot be happier! It is certainly a personal decision saline vs. silicone .. I personally decided to splurge for the silicones and am super happy with the results. Since I was already spending the money and I was looking for the ultimate result, I decided to go for it. I went with 457ccs through the areola under the muscle. There is a part of me that wishes I went bigger .. hopefully they stay this big LOL! Some points to consider .. I took Arnica 5 pills under the tongue 3 times a day for the 3 days before my surgery and 3 pills, 3-4 times a day starting the day after my surgery. I also had drains in for 2 days which I think really helped with the swelling and pain. (Kind of gross, but I think made a huge difference.) I started massaging on day 2 and used Arnica gel/creme on my breasts (keeping it away from incisions) and then cocoa butter mixed into the equation about a week out. I hope you are planning on staying at the hotel for at least several days after your surgery .. you are not going to want to travel anywhere for a few days. ;) Good luck!!

Wow thanks for all the info Rachel. I think I might change to silicone, I want "umph" on the top and have been told saline is more prominent but I do care how they feel. I am traveling back home two days later, my bf has been told he might need To carry me through the airport. How big were u before? I don't think they put in drains post op but I wish they would. I had my nose done and had horrible pain from the swelling. I'm going to look into arnica, sounds like an awesome idea. I really think this is going to change my life, ive always hated wearing certain things or being surrounded by bustier women. Even being intimate, I hated removing my bra. But you think it's worth if for silicone, it's only 800 more

Definitely worth it for the silicone and go bigger in my opinion lolol!!!! I think the drains made a HUGE impact on how quickly my recovery was. All of that extra blood that normally rushes to the surgical area that makes noobs hard, engorged and painful has somewhere to go! Feel free to private message me if you have any other questions .. I am soooo happy my recovery was not miserable and btw, did I mention go bigger? Hee hee hee! :-) Have a boobalicious day! xoxo

So almost 10 days left to the big day and 9 days left until I get on my flight to Alabama. Just worried at this point about waking up after the twilight anestesia and how my body will react. I began thinking I want 400cc Saline but know I am leaning towards 475cc silicone, grrr so hard to decide lol

I can't figure out why they wouldn't let you take your Tramadol either. Maybe ask Dr H directly about this? I do know from other reviews and my consult that he tends, if anything, to write for most every anticipated issue that your could have post-op (pain, nausea, anxiety...) so maybe they just don't want you stacking them? Anyway I would definitely mention it! Good luck with everything!

So I'm here in Alabama for my big day tomorrow. Went for my consult today with Dr. Hedden and we decided on silicone 450cc's, biplanar augmentation under the breast incision. So excited! Have to be the tomorrow at 630am. Dr. Hedden was great and told me what was best for me with no added BS. Hope all goes well
