So I meant to start this earlier to go through the steps but better late than never! I got her on Wednesday night from DC and I had my consultation on Thursday at 12:30. My nurse was Pennie who was great and funny. She suggested I start with 450cc so that I could see how I like that and kind of gauge where I want to go. I am 5'7 and 127lbs (slim but curvy). Tried on 450cc and it looked nice but I knew I wanted bigger. After reading how women usually wish they went bigger I thought hey why not? So I tried 500cc which looked GREAT! but I still wasn't sure. So Pennie put 500cc in one and 550cc in the other. I have a butt and didn't want to look disproportionate so I decided 550 would be too big. I ended up decided on 500cc. I sent pics to my hubby and friends and they all agreed. I let Pennie know and she said that looked great. A little later Dr. Hedden came in (he was in surgery) and asked me some questions. I decided to go with silicone instead of saline and I told him I had chosen 500cc. He said he thought I would get a nice result especially with the silicone since I am thin. He looked at my chest and mentioned that I have a slight asymmetry which I had already noticed but that he would probably be able to fix that. He asked me if I had any questions which I didn't so he told me to write down anything I had and we would discuss it before surgery the next day. He left and the nurse took my pics and gave me my prescription. She also told me to get a bra (there was a Danskin one at Walmart that Dr. hedden liked). So I left and got my meds and bras. I also got some antibacterial soap since it specifies that you should you that to wash the surgical area the night before and the morning of surgery. I then went back to the hotel for a nap then went out to eat and drink as much as I could before midnight (no food or drink after midnight ugh!). I thought I would be more nervous that night but after meeting the staff and Dr. Hedden I was pretty much at ease.

Day of Surgery Update
bessembateMay 28, 2013
So on the day of surgery I was up pretty early. I was surprisingly able to sleep even though I was really excited and nervous. At 9:45 my caregiver called letting me know she was outside (she wasn't supposed to be there until 10). So I put together my last few items and then went outside - this is it! I got to Dr. Hedden's a little before 10am (my hotel is only 5 minutes away). I walked in a signed some paperwork then sat in the waiting area. After about 20 minutes, I was called up to sign some more papers and to have my caregiver complete on of the forms as well. After that I went outside to enjoy the sunshine and collect my thoughts before the called me in for my surgery. At about 11:45 they called me back. Ahhh!!! It's finally here! I walked in the back room and the nurse asked me a few questions again. Then Dr. Hedden came in asked if I still wanted 500cc which I said yes. He then went over a few things asked if I had anymore questions then told me he would see me in the operating room. The anesthesiologist Patrick came by and explained his part. He looked at my chest to make sure that Dr. hedden had came by. He then left and the nurse came back in. She has a tough time putting the IV in because apparently my veins roll. They dont stick it in your arm anymore so it's killed!! She had to stick me a few times and then finally on the 4th try she was able to get it in properly. Patrick came back and he gave me a pre-anesthetic thing which was to make me drowsy. Well it did the trick because when he came back I had dosed off. I had already given the nurse my purse to bring tomy caregiver and she brought the bag with my bra and clothes in it to the recovery room. Patrick helped me walk to the operating room where I would be having the surgery and then he put the anesthesia into the IV and a gas mask and that was it! I woke up to Patrick talking to me. I was groggy and my throat was SOOOOO dry! She brought me crackers and Gatorade and at that point i realized hey I have boobs. I remember looking down at them and smiling a bit. I think I said oh they look good. LOL. At this point it was about 3:45. Anyways I drank about one and a half Gatorades and then they walked me out to my caregiver and I got in the car to the hotel. My caregiver helped me to my room and I told her I'd be fine and she left. I kept drinking Gatorade and I opened a Sprite I had bought the day before. I stayed in my bed sleeping on and off for about 2 hours then I decided that i wanted to take the pain meds. In order to take the pain meds I had to eat (I hadnt eatten since midnight) so I ordered Papa Johns. The food came pretty quickly (right to my room door!) so I ate quickly then took the meds which helped IMMENSELY. After that I fell asleep for about another 2 hours then decided I should probably walk around. I walked around the hotel about 5 times with no problems. I waited another 2 hours then took some more pain pills and went to sleep. Other than chest feeling heavy I felt totally fine especially after the pain meds.

Congrats!!! Dr Hedden did a great job! You look great! I go to Dr Hedden in about two weeks. I'm so excited. High five for going big, I hope when my time comes I have the confidence to go BIG as well. I'm looking into Hotel's now...what was it that you liked about Candlewood.

Exciting!! You'll love the facility, professionalism, and the staff. One thing that helped when Pennie was helping me with sizers is she showed me how much 50cc really was...its a really slight difference. So she had me choose in increments of 50cc rather than going from 450 to 475 I went from 450 to 500. This was a good approach. Candlewood was huge! It has everything in there - kitchen with a stovetop, toaster, you can loan out a toaster oven, it had a dvd player hooked up to a big plasma tv. Spacious bathroom. Just amazing and affordable! Also, very very close to the clinic (5 minutes) and around the corner from alot of shopping and food places. Only about 20 minutes from the airport as well.

That's a great idea, trying sizes in increments of 50 opposed to 25...that way there aren't an overload of choices to narrow down, given the pressure of making the final decision is already stressful. Awesome! Candlewood sounds good! Ill look into it again. Thanks again!
