After many years of considering breast implants, I finally did it. I live in TN and even went for a consultation with a PS closer home, but was told that breastfeeding my son had really did a number on me and I would require a lift. I was only 32 years old at that time and figured I would wait until I could afford it without having to borrow a lot of money. A few months ago I decided I would look into it and did some research on the internet and found out about Hedden Plastic Surgery. I received email from Dr. Schaffer and made the 340 mile trip to AL for my consultation. I told him what size I would like to be and he helped me select the correct CCs. He said a lift would definitely give me a perfect look but he could do a sub-pectoral placement and if I felt like I needed a lift I could do it later. I appreciate his honesty and the opportunity to make the decision for myself. I'm so happy with my results and my husband is mighty proud of his trophy wife of 26 years.

Oh, you look great in your picture...congratulations! Yes, pregnancy and breastfeeding can really take a toll on breasts. What type and size implant did you get to achieve your new look?

Thanks, Beth! I had the Mentor Moderate Profile Saline 500cc.

Perfect size for you! I'm all for saline, but curious what made you get saline instead of silicone?

When I went for the consultation in 2000 saline was all that was used. I never really looked into the silicone I guess because I have a physical job in maintenance at a chemical plant. I just wouldn't want to have them rupture in my body. I did insure my implants and if I have to have them replaced I will probably check into the silicone.

Yes, it's nice know that the saline is safe if they ever were to rupture!

When I started searching the internet earlier this year about BA, I saw that the TUBA procedure was offered so that sounded great, but when I went for my consultation with Dr. Schaffer, I wasn't a good candidate for that which was fine. I was 45 years old at the time. I was like a 38c and told him I would like to be a 38 DD. He recommended 450 to 500cc under muscle placement and 500 cc was right on target. I scheduled my surgery to coordinate with a trip to FL to recuperate. The type of anesthesia was like the wisdom teeth type surgery. I woke up in the recovery room and my nurse said my blood pressure was a little low and I could go home when it came back up. I was happy with my results as soon as I saw them. My husband took me to the hotel and got lunch for us so I could take a pain pill. I took 1/2 a pain pill every few hours and would take my muscle spasm pill at night. The next morning after my post-op visit, we headed to FL. Sleeping afterward was a little uncomfortable for a few weeks. I also took a cold about 6 days afterward and it sure hurt to sneeze. Today has been 8 weeks since the BA and I feel great. Most of the feeling is all back to normal. I'm a very happy 46 year old grandma. :)

You're comment is so helpful, I'm going to cut and paste it into your review. Sometimes this type of helpful information can get lost in the comments section below your review here.

So you even traveled the day after your surgery? Did you drive or fly? Didn't you want your own bed/home for recovery?  BTW, I can't believe you're a grandma...a sexy looking one for sure!

Thanks Beth, my husband drove and I slept part of the time. We hauled our bike on a trailer to Bike Rally in Panama City. I was on the bike about 2 days after surgery. We just rode a little at a time. It's a big Harley Electra Glide so it was a comfortable ride. The bed in the condo was as comfortable as my own. Plus walking on the beach was good therapy too. I just couldn't be in the sun much because of the antibiotics and couldn't get in the pool or hot tub.

Wow, you're very inspiring. So glad you had a nice recovery. Some women can't move for several days post-op. Good for you!

Its been three years since my breast augmentation with Dr. Schaffer. I had 500 cc moderate profile plus saline implants. He recommended a lift for optimal results but could do subpectoral first & see how that went. Needless to say he did fantastic work and I will definitely go back to him for any future procedures.
