The longest update ever! 11 days post op. :/
I haven't had a chance to update. I had my ba the 19th. I'm 11 days post op now and starting to feel a little better. It's been a crazy 11 days and it's honestly felt a lot longer than just 11 days..
My bf and I drove to Birmingham the 18th for my consultation. When we arrived at Hedden plastic surgery we were given some sizers to try on. I was still on the fence on sizing etc. We did have to wait a bit but that was okay with me. Dr. Hedden came into the room and started right away. He was fast but direct. He stopped a couple of times and asked if he was rushing, I'm guessing I looked completely lost for a minute. After taking the before photos Dr. Hedden was looking and informed me I had a mild case of tuburous breast. Thinking back on it I remember my nipples looking puffy and strange when I was younger. He said that just means there was a little more work for him. I had a good amount of extra 'skin' and my right breast/nipple sat lower than my left. I never really noticed it untill I saw the before photos the ps took. It was actually quite noticeable. Lol I was told that it would be less noticable the larger I went. He said when he opened me up he would have to go into my breast tissue and release the bands around my nipple that held my breast in a tubular form then he would place the implants. I still wasn't sure about sizes at the time and he said I could decide the morning of my surgery.
My surgery was scheduled for 6:15 the next morning.
We arrived and sat in the waiting room what felt like forever but it was only about 30 minutes. Lol I was taken back where I told Dr. Hedden 350-400cc and for him to decide what was best. He told me that he was going to do 400, not because he likes big but because of my extra skin. He felt like I would still have some skin afterwards. He drew on me and left. The anasetegologist came in and placed the iv. I was taken to the or and laid down. I remember talking to them about my job then waking up in recovery on and off. I sort of remember getting dressed and being wheeled out to my bf who had the car ready for me. I slept all the way to the pharmacy and to the hotel. My bf set up a bunch of pillows and I slept for the next 2 hours. I woke up starving but I didn't feel any pain. I felt quite good, tired but good. Dr hedden told my bf he was going to have to be a mean bf and make me walk etc. So he decided he was going to take me to the zoo. Lol it wasn't bad though, we walked the zoo and got take out on the way back to the hotel. I kept up with my pain meds/muscle relaxers. It wasn't bad at all. Went the next morning for my post op appt and I was told everything looked good. I had a fairly large gap between my breast and he told me to get a sports bra that had really good side support and a tight band to help pull them together. He showed me one target carries so we went to Target before the 6 hour ride home. I got the Champion power shape max sports bra.
We drove home, which i slept on and off most of the way. I still felt little to no pain. I got home and just hung out and napping the rest of the day. Sleeping upright sucks honestly, I definitely woke up a lot to ice and take meds.
The next few days came and went. I wasn't in too much pain and was able to do little things around the house etc. Then about post op day 5 came around.. I woke up in pain, my whole body hurt. I could barely move my arms. I was supposed to start driving that day and it was killer. I started to head out to where I turned around 5 miles down the road and went back home. I tried keeping my arms to my side as much as possible and was eating Motrin like candy. I really started hurting. Morning boob is no joke. I definitely had a harder time with that. 7 days post op and I ended up calling the office curious to why I was in so much pain still. Just everything hurt. They told me to just take it easy and ice.
Well then I woke up at 2am po day 8 in excruciating pain. Excruciating. I couldn't breathe at all. Every breath I took it felt like something was ripping through my rib cage. I called the office where I was told to ice breast and to contemplate going to the er. Idk why it took me so long to realize that it wasn't my actual breast that was in pain but my lung. I headed to the E.R. I was there for 9 hours being poked, x-rays etc to rule out a pulmonary embolism. Everything came back normal and they diagnosed me with pleurisy on my right side. HORRIBLE I tell ya, just horrible. It took all day and up into the night for the pain to start to subside...Then the next day it was in my left side.. I'm 11 days post op today and I still hurt a little with deep breaths but I'm staying on top of it with Motrin. My boobs are doing quite well besides the fact. They are starting to drop nicely and I haven't had too much pain from them. My incisions have a itchy thing going on and I've been hypersensitive. My skin has these random flare-ups where the bra just touching my skin or nipple send these crazy annoying/slightly painful electric shocks throughout them. They also get this weird pin and needles feeling when I touch them. Sometimes my skin on my them just hurt.
I'm so happy I can still feel them though!! That was one of my biggest worries. I didn't want to lose my sensations.
Well there it is so far! Lol
11 days is a lot to make up for. :)

Surgery rescheduled for the 19th
I haven't updated since a week before I was supposed to have my ba. I chickened out and just didn't feel ready. I thought I'd give myself a couple more weeks to prepare (mentally) and get excited. Well time has come and I'll be heading to Birmingham the 18th. I feel more prepared for it but I'm still letting my nerves get the best of me. I have contemplated holding off over and over. Idk if I'll ever get them if I don't go ahead and get them now. So I'm 3 days away from my surgery! Here is some before pics.
1 week away!
Well time has flown by pretty fast lately. I figured it would drag the month before but it surprisingly it hasn't. I've been reading, doing rice tests and more reading. I'm going shopping for everything tomorrow.
It's been a smooth ride so far. I've been talking to Dr. Heddens out of state patient coordinator. She has been very helpful and made this a very easy process so far. I had my bloodwork done a couple of weeks ago. Had my phone history/physical Friday and am cleared and ready! I was hit with the flu not too long ago, then bronchitis. When I had my labs done I was on my last day of a z-pack, but thankfully that's not an issue! I was so worried I would have to push it back. I used my hotel points to book my room next to the office/center and unfortunately I will lose the points with a cancel/reschedule.. And it was a lot of points. Haha
Next Tuesday I have to be in the office by 2. It's coming up!! I'm beyond nervous, I find my brain tries to talk me out of it sometimes.
Here are some wish pics I found on here, mainly. I love the shape of these, but reading posts and sizing I believe they are a little too big for me. I'm still leaning more towards 350-375cc. I will know for sure in a week and 1 day!
I'll post more later. Have a good one yall!
