The past 4 days have passed slowly but surely. Surgery was Thursday morning and by 1:30 I was in my recovery hotel with a nurse. Pretty much all of the first hours are dedicated to pain management.
Day 2 - I showered with the help of my nurse, it was pretty awful pain wise and exhausting. I came home around 10:30. My husband was with me around the clock to help me get in and out of bed, take meds and help keep me fed and hydrated. I'm drinking at least a gallon of water a day.
Day 3. First thing on Saturday I showered. I had a chair in my shower to sit on and that helped make showering very easy. When I was done my husband had another chair outside of the shower for me to sit in to rest, and dry my hair, brush my teeth, etc. the day went by with constant vitamins and meds. Still taking pain meds and muscle relaxer every 4-6 hours.
Day 4 - pretty much the same as day 3 except that the muscle spasms have begun. They feel a lot like early labor muscle contractions. It's not unbearable just uncomfortable. I was able to stop taking the pain meds today but am still taking the muscle relaxer and ibuprofen as needed.
Today - day 5... Today I'm going to start icing my stomach and my breasts a couple of times a day to help reduce the swelling. I'm not in pain - my muscles are tight and I'm still having muscle spasms but it makes me more sore than anything. Also, I only have one drain and while it's in the way, it's really not that bad.
All in all, I'm feeling great. I'm tired of laying around, but it's making me heal so that's what needs to happen, I don't havea caregiver with me today, but I'm perfectly able to get water and food and I can get in and out of my bed.
I think that's it for the time being.

My ps told me I could not ice my tummy because it slows down blood flow and can cause more problems with skin healing and can make your skin die. He said I could ice the top of my boobs, but I never had any pain or swelling with those.
