35 Yr Old 2 Kids and Married Need a Extended Tummy Tuck and Panniculectomey - Birmingham, AL

Hello everyone, a little bit about me...I am 35 years old and have two children ages 15 & 9. Married to my wonderful husband for 16 years. I have lost 70 pounds with the help of the lap band in 2012. I have been at a stable weight since feb 2013. I started this process last year, when I wanted to get ride of this hanging skin. So, my girlfriend suggested Hedden Plastics. They are great!! Once my husband and I met with Dr Schaffer I knew I was ready . So, after talking to my insurance about something else they informed me they will cover part of my tt if its medically necessary. Well, my insurance is great and fast. The PS office did not think they would be so fast. Once all the pictures were taken and sent to them I got an approval 30 days later. However due to other medical issues I had 3 surgeries in 2013. So, Dr Schaffer and I decided it would be best to wait until the beginning of 2014. Here I am....I was always wanting to get rid of this stomach and since my type of skin does not bounce back after major weight loss I have to have it removed. I am so excited, my husband and I go tomorrow for some final prep stuff and to maybe change the date to a sooner one. I never even considered a bbl but after talking with my sister in law who had a bl,ba and tt she said why not make it a one shop..lol. So, tomorrow we are gonna discuss that with the PS. I am super excited!!! I am hoping he can do both at the same time at a good price...lol

Today my husband and I went to the PS. He really made me feel awful!! First of all he tells me now that he cant remove the flanks without an additional 1500. I was never advised that and that is not in our budget. Then he tells me that if you just have a bad body there is nothing you can do. My husband says he didn't hear him say that but I did. He was standing in my face. I just cried and cried once we got in the car. I couldn't believe someone could make me feel so awful! I thought I had come a long way and now this! I did loose 70 pounds but I guess that doesn't matter. He has a promotion right now where if he does the surgery this month you get the flanks lipoed for free. I asked him about this and he said he is all booked up and next avl is March as we planned. My husband has been trying to be so compassionate and understanding but I am just hurt. The PS also tells me that he will do an extended tummy tuck (which I knew already) however I will still have all the back fat and I will have dog ears. At this point I don't even know if I want to do this anymore!
