Having done a lot of research, I had read so many...
Having done a lot of research, I had read so many horror stories about the pelvic mesh migrating out of placement, or a shot that places hydroxyapatite or calcium particles next to your urethra that migrate and cause blockages that need surgical intervention.
I was tired of leaking when I sneezed, or laughed, or while running. And wanted a safer treatment.
I found the O-Shot while researching and was intrigued. A virtually painless shot, made from my own plasma, in my lady parts that would help prevent my condition and a side affect of greater sensitivity and orgasms!? Sounds to good to be true.
So, I started to do more research. Upwards of 90% improvement in incontinance,
65-75% in increased sexual pleasure, sounds like great odds. Ok.. now to find the right Dr.
I watched videos, read reviews, visited dozens of websites and pages.
Nothing clicked. Too far away, abrupt staff not willing to answer my questions over the phone, zero call backs. Most gave me a price of 1500.00-1800.00
I began narrowing it down to a few Drs a few counties away, when one of my friends mentioned a Dr a couple of miles away. She had done research and found that he charged 1200.00. He also said if the first shot didn't offer improvement after 3 months, he would repeat it for free.
That almost clinched the deal. Next, a phone call. I spoke to his office manager, Polly Anne. She was a wealth of information and also a receiver of the O Shot by the originating Dr, Dr Runels. She was very kind, supportive and made me feel comfortable. I made an appointment for the following week, the same time as when my friend was going to Be getting her shot.
I arrived about 15 minutes early. I was greeted right away and given paperwork to fill out. It was very detailed and extensive in its questions.
Dr. Pinsky came out. Introduced himself and asked questions about me and made me feel comfortable. He spent a lot of time reading my questionaire and asked me questions about my answers.
My friend arrived and we all were chatting excitedly and we asked if we could be in the room together while we each had the procedure. Dr. Pinsky was fine with that.
We went into the procedure room and his nurse, Joanna pulled a fair amount of blood from my arm, maybe 2 ounces. She was very fast and there wasn't much discomfort there. .she had me jump up on the exam table, after stripping off my clothes from the waist down, covering me with a blanket, and then while she was spinning down my blood, had applied some extremely effective numbing cream all over and inside my lady bits.
She asked the time and said 30 minutes to wait for the cream to work. Dr. Pinsky came in a few times to over see the prepping of my blood and ask me a few more questions and just chatted a bit, asking me if I had any questions.
He said there is a rule of 3.. the first 3 days will be a little tender, and I will see results. Then they will go away for about 3 weeks, then, my body will utilize the platelets and begin rebuilding the tissue. I should see maximum results in 3 months. He said results should last about 12-18 months.. some patients last longer, some need a 2nd shot. Okay.
After 30 minutes, I tested my lady bits with a touch and a few pinches. It was so numb, I didn't feel anything, I was relieved and feeling more relaxed.
Dr. P came in and said he would now test the area and then give me a local anesthesia, but I shouldn't feel anything. He had a tiny syringe with a tiny needle, not much wider than a thick piece of hair. He asked me if I felt anything where he touched with the tip of the needle. No, I didn't feel anything, just the sensation of something dripping?
He waited a while, we joked and laughed and he was very confident and assuring. He then was handed another small syringe, and he told me to sit in a certain position and he and his nurse helped. They moved my lady parts a little to facilitate proper area of injection and he began to inject. All I felt was a warm pressure near my bladder. I had a brief sensation of having to evacuate my bowels. He said that was normal. Okay. The first part was done, then there was one more injection into the side of my clitoris. He checked for numbness. Nothing. I felt a pressure going down either side of my vagina. That was it.. zero pain or discomfort. I was done.. I got dressed and he said no limitations. Do whatever I wanted with my husband after the numbness wears off.
That night, it was about 6 hours after the procedure. I had sex with my husband. There wasn't anything different feeling. I was able to have two Os manually.. but nothing inside. The next day, I was more aware of my Lady parts.
A slight pulsing happened occasionally when I sat up in a chair or moved in a way that put pressure, there.. the 3rd day, I was having a weird, throbbing sensations off and on, and I when I sneezed, or ran upstairs, no leaking!
After the 4th day, it was back to normal, gor me anyway.. I was back to dripping when I sneezed, exerted any sort if fast pressure, like running up the stairs or lifting something heavy. I called Polly Ann at his office and let her know. She said that this was normal, but I should begin seeing improvement again in about 2 more weeks and that it should peak in about 10-12 weeks.
She said if it didn't work, they would repeat the shot, no cost.
So, I am waiting to see if it begins to get better.
One other thing I forgot to mention. Dr. Pinsky suggested that I see a hormone specialist as well, because I'm just going into menopause and he thought hormone replacement therapy, might help.
All and all, I was very impressed with how comfortable I was. I was very nervous and a little scared, after all.. there was going to be a needle in my lady parts. If this helps me stop leaking, I will gladly pay to have this shot done again.
One note. My husband did make a comment that I was much tighter inside the first night after the O Shot.
