I’m originally a Brit, now living in Australia and my skin took after that of my mother’s: very thin, so that by the time I hit 50, I had deep wrinkles on my forehead and sagging eye bags and just looked years older than my true age. Seeing friends of a similar age looking much younger than me took its toll, with one particularly horrific incident at a garden centre when the cashier thought I was a similar-aged friend's mother!
I started to look into surgical procedures and came across Beverly Wilshire Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, online. It seemed to have pretty good reviews, so I got in touch with them and they were really helpful. After they explained all the procedures to me, the best one seemed to be a facelift.
I flew over to Kuala Lumpur with my cousin to have surgery with Dr Nasir. He examined me in detail and we decided that I should have a traditional facelift.
The following day I had surgery and was pretty surprised once I came out, as my face was all swollen up, but not as much as I thought it would.
However, I had been warned that the worst was to come, and sure enough, two days later I had bruises all over my face and looked like I’d just been in a fight with someone!
Over the next couple of weeks, the bruising faded and swelling subsided and I could begin to see the improvements, which made me really excited!
It’s now been four months since the facelift and I can hand on heart say I look a million times better and more youthful - I am 50 and have been told by people when I ask them to guess my age I look in my early 40's. One even flattered me with 38... I was gob smacked.
