Found Dr Azzizadeh more or less through real self....

Found Dr Azzizadeh more or less through real self. After consult I was sure that he is the expert who will fix my nose especially since he seemed to understand what I was trying to achieve. It is now almost two years since the surgery and I have to say that I don't like the way the tip of the nose looks as well as also the uneven nostrils and profile. I am very very disappointed. with the result I received I honestly would not call him an expert.
Sad that most probably I need to search for a Rhinoplasty surgeon again and again spend thousands of dollars with the hope to this time have better luck and results. I can return a shirt from a store if it doesn't match my outfit I think patients with anything less then a satisfactory result should be entitled for a refund!

He iffered to re do surgery for free. I am devastated since in nean time the left side of my tip collapsed. I just dont know ejo to pick. Of course I dont have another 20k up my sleeve to spend on someone else of whom I am jot sure if they can deliver☹️Im depressed i look like Miss Piggy

If he's willing to perform surgery for free (like a touch up procedure), I would go for it. Or maybe someone here on RealSelf have had multiple revisions with Dr. Z and can let you know if it's worth it.

Hi, sorry for ur surgery not going to plan. I've had revision to have spent a lot and unhappy. Honestly my surgeon offers free surgery again but I'd rather not. If I'm not happy now. I doubt he'll make me happy after another. Be careful on doing again with same surgeon.

Hi, I had a similar experience with the same doc. I've been told that it's swelling, but the nose looks horrible. I agree with your assesment.
June 14, 2016
He doesnt seem competent enough. He offered to re do my nose. Im devastated.
June 14, 2016
I'm so sorry. I wouldn't let him touch my nose again either.

Are you going to get it redone? Can make up help?
October 6, 2016
No make up can not help as the left nostril has no support and is collapsing downwards and the nose tip is too far out from the face so when I smile the nostrils open up like batwings. This could be ok for a guy in his 60ties maybe but not for a women because it really messes up all other facial features.

I looked at this dr. too. It was a good sign that he specializes on the face. No butt lifts and mommy makeovers. His skill sets are not spread thin as many other doctors are. The website is well-presented. Even a philosophy about his approach. You want to go with it. But in the gallery section I just did not see an acceptable aesthetic at work. I saw no tip refinement or sufficient reduction in size. Perhaps his is a middle-eastern aesthetic? . I didn't like any of the after photos on the primary rhinoplasties so I moved on.

Thanks d.crockett who did you pick at the end? Please private message me if you prefer to.
Thank you

Hi. Have not yet decided. The more you learn about these things the more complex the decision gets. For example with implants - natural cartilage is favored because of less chance of infection. But it can warp over time.On the other hand a silicone implant won't warp but it can result in later extrusion, and infection. Other materials present another array of trade-offs. I thought after a time of extensive research I would reach a decision and the more I knew the quicker I would reach it. However, it has gone the other way. The more I learn, the more there is to consider. What is remarkable is how little the average patient knows about the procedure they are getting. Many times a RealSelf patient is asked what their implant was made of or what size or if secured with a screw or stiched (if it's the chin) and they don't know and never asked! Such people reach a decision quickly on which doctor to use. They have a consult and tell us how great it was. They liked the doctor's manner. It's troubling how childish most of these comments are. After the procedure many people just post "You look AMAZING!" to the patient. Not one word about will it last? What are the prospects years down the line? Some materials cause problems later. There seems to be an infantilism about so many people interested in cosmetic surgery. So I'm still educating myself. The Dr. that dealt with your upset over your nose by prescribing an anti-depressant could be the poster child of what's wrong with medical training today. Drugs or surgery. The only tools they use. Best of luck.

Very unhappy and depressed

moulinrouge
Attached are pictures of the nose tip. It is plain ugly and reminds me of Ms Piggy from Sesame Street. Thank God I still have some humor left ! But actually it is rather depressing. My Doctor prescribed Wellbutrin because I am so selfconcious about my appearance that I do not want to go out. Not to grocery store, mall nor dinner with my husband. I feel everyone is staring at my nose. I ended up with Depression.

Hi there
Have you found a good revision rhino specialist ?

First, I want to say something and I hope it doesn't come off as rude or condescending: I would never stare at your nose and I do not think anyone ever would. Your nose looks like a nose -- like the average nose. SO many people have slightly asymmetric noses. Your nose looks fine. That being said, yes, it sucks to get an asymmetric/undesirable nose after spending thousands of dollars on a surgery. So I understand being depressed about the situation, but please go out and live a normal life. Easier said than done, I know, but it's not worth it! :( And mind you, I'm saying all this after living for 6.5 years with a nose I hated and hid, and I also avoided big social situation just because of my nose. However, I wish I could tell my past self that no one cared or even noticed my nose. Sorry, I hope this message doesn't seem aggressive -- it's just my passion about this issue coming through. I really do wish you the best of luck in getting the results you desire! Keep us updated!

Thank you for the kind words.

It's 2016 2 1/2 years after my revision and my nose looks worse then before. Dr. A offered to re do it. Just because I do not have smother $20k I'm tempted to have him re do it however this time I really want him to work on me and NOT the assistant.
September 20, 2016
Wow he did my nose too and I hate it he made my nose bigger and wider than it it ever was sooo depressing after I paid the same amount you paid and he promised high expectations I am really saddened about my appearance

Sorry about your suffering. It is a painful journey but if you have the money and the energy to go through it again find a good surgeon and fix it.
May 7, 2017
My dilemma is how to find a good surgeon! I have lost faith since almost everyone I would consider has good but also devastating bad reviews on realself. Really need to do it asap though have more issues w breathing and sinuses.
September 24, 2016
did you ever get your money back? i hope you are okay.
October 6, 2016
Nope he offered to re do it but I am hesitant since he didn't do a good job the first time around however because of the financial aspect I might consider at the end. Not sure very unhappy.
October 6, 2016
so sorry. :( i would not know what to do in that situation.
September 25, 2016
Almost all surgeons offer free revisions, speak to your surgeon and I'm sure they'll want to help, hope you get the help you need x
October 6, 2016
Yes he did offer to re do it however he didn't do the job the first time why should I believe he can do it second time around? I am tempted to do it because we do not have 20K to spend on an another Doctor but I am also really really scared. He used cadaver graft vs my rib he did everything we did not talk about.
October 10, 2016
Did he say he would use rib and then use cadaver?! If you go to him again he will likely make it worse and delay the possibility of you fixing it with a better surgeon. It would still cost money in the way of hospital fees etc so its not really a free revision.
May 7, 2017
Sorry wasn't on realself for a while..yes we discussed specifically rib graft and ear. Everything came out different then discussed. I am now the fourth year past surgery and it got worse. The nose has no support on the left side and it collapsed more I guess the scar tissue and the deviated septum he didn't correct make it difficult to breathe and I have more sinus issues. Seriously this is so not fair that Doctors screw up your face and continue to call themselves EXPERTS doing the same thing to other people while we the patients have no power to sue nor anything else. I cant wait to have it corrected for real however I really do not know whom to chose as almost everyone has bad and good reviews. I would never go with Dr. Z. again!!! Total incompetence for revision rhinoplasty!

no way!! he used ear and rib ? and what technique did he use? this dr was my last hope

Hi any updates on what Dr Z said ? Did you fix your nose with him or go elsewhere please update us thank you
October 6, 2016
Hi there
No I have not fixed it with him because I am scared. He didn't do a good job the first time why should I think he can do it a second time plus he used cadaver vs my own rib graft and we talked about ear and rib. Everything came different. This was barely if not less three hour surgery, for this difficult nose tip build up it would require four+ according other doctors I have consulted with recently. If I would ever decide to go with him then because we do not have 20K to throw out again.
October 5, 2016
Can you post some pre-op photos? They'd be incredibly useful to see what you can to Dr. Z with.
