Repaired a Horrible Job Done by Another Plastic Surgeon - Beverly, MA

Having a medically necessary breast reduction in conjunction with cancer surgery was a fairly terrifying experience to anticipate. The decision to do both at the same time was to minimize scars and to only be under anesthesia once. Both surgeons assured me of their coordinated effort. I woke from surgery to find that they did not follow their plan and that they did not bother to consult my husband who was in the hall during the entire procedure. Another long incision was made. More horrifying was what was unveiled when the bandages were removed. Giving it time did not improve the results. Much that should have been done was not and the things that were done were just terrible. Cuts where no cuts should ever be made between my breasts and towards my back! Incisions made in the wrong areas. When I bent over, my nipples touched each other. So much taken from the cleavage area and not nearly enough taken from the outer sides. The general shape was angled downward toward my arms. It was SO upsetting. There are no real words to describe how I felt after putting my trust in these two women who are supposed to be terrific surgeons.

Fast forward to finding out about Dr. Anoush Hadaegh. The differences, every step of the way, between dealing with the "other" plastic surgeon & staff and Dr. Hadaegh and his, were like night & day. From the very professional yet very warm receptionist to the medical assistants, nurse and administrator, I knew I was in a very different kind of place. They put me at ease. Then I met Dr. Hadaegh, who could not be more sensitive not to mention kind and intelligent. I was never talked down to or made to feel like I was too old to be worried about how I look. He was gentle in telling me that he could not fix all the damage that was done but that he could improve upon it. My age (59) came into play as he was not sure how things would look once he opened me up, how elastic my skin would be at this age, etc. He developed a kind of plan a, b & c. He carefully explained to my husband and me over a few meetings, just what he would do depending on how he found things during surgery. Fortunately for me he found that my skin and whatnot could tolerate this further surgery and he, much to my amazement, re-did the entire surgery! He was able to move things around, was able to move the scars as much as possible towards under my breasts instead of on them and removed an additional 1.5 pounds from the outside of each breast. The result was UNBELEIVABLE! When he unwrapped me in his office and I saw what he had done it literally made me break down in tears. The shape was corrected, the location & size of the nipples were corrected. He was even able to give me a bit of cleavage where I had been made completely flat. He also moved the scar that I wasn't supposed to have at all over a bit so it would be hidden under a bathing suit. Unfortunately there was nothing he could do about the nasty scars I have between my breasts or going towards my back, areas that should not have seen a knife, but what he DID do was, in my opinion, miraculous. The other major difference was the recovery process. I did not, for example, have to keep going in to have stiches that were sticking out pulled out nor did I have problems with oozing & weeping where two "seams" intersected. It was a very different recovery process. The difference between the two plastic surgeons was made even more abundantly clear post surgery. I HIGHLY recommend the services of Dr. Hadaegh and his staff. They are incredibly professional and incredibly personable. No egomaniacs here!! Just caring, talented people doing wonderful work.
