Provider Review

Oculoplastic Surgeon, Board Certified in Ophthalmology
433 N. Camden Dr., Beverly Hills, California
Overall rating

I had a lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning done here. Not a day goes by that I don't look at my face and regret it. The doctor and staff are very nice and professional, but the result looks unnatural and people can tell I've had surgery - new people I've gotten closer to have asked me about it as well as other friends. From afar you can't tell so I tend to want to keep people at a distance. It psychologically has made me more insecure than before. There are days I don’t want to wake up. I was hoping to just look refreshed and it would not be noticeable. After the full payment went through, at the pre-op visit, the doctor mentioned that he throws in a temporary filler to help with the results. This was alarming to me - a result that may require temporary injections on an annual basis which costs around 1K. This says something about the confidence in which this surgery will be successful. Why wasn't this mentioned in the consultation? Immediately after the surgery I could see the sharp, hard line between the operated and non-operated area which starts at the corner of my eye and goes down to the mid-face due to the procedure. As time has gone by that line has gotten worse instead of better. Maybe the results would be blended better with the filler, but had I known it would be needed to have seamless results I would’ve not had the procedure. I had already committed to the time-off and the payment went through so I just hoped it wouldn’t be needed. Since then, I've gone to several other doctors for consultations and the cost to try and blend the results better permanently would cost more than the price of this surgery and are more error-prone. Too much fat was taken out - and for the side where more fat was removed (the sides are uneven), I feel a slight amount pressure on and off every day - like someone is pressing on my upper cheek. I’m unable to think about it even if I don’t look in a mirror. I guess I can be happy my bags are gone - when I look in the mirror I don't see them, I see the surgery. I’m writing this review so other people know that having this procedure with this doctor may just lead you down the path to more surgeries with more cost and more problems. I wish I read a review like this from someone else on this site.
