I am grateful to Dr. Kotler and his team. Thank you- Silicone rhinoplasty
UPDATED FROM Kris0907
progress report- The silicon rhinoplasty created more change than my revision surgery did.
WORTH IT
I want to update my recovery journey.
My first visit with Dr. Kotler was in April of 2018. I reached out to him to correct many deformities after a botched rhinoplasty and an unsuccessful revision rhinoplasty.
Both of my surgeries felt traumatic, so I did not want to go through it again. I gave a chance to silicon 1000. I visited dr Kotler about 8 times or so throughout the last 3 years. My nose was in a terrible shape, but I saw improvement each time; I stayed hopeful. I continued my treatment after our initial treatment ended. I paid for extra visits, but even with that, it was significantly cheaper than going through another revision rhinoplasty.
Dr. Kotler is an amazing listener. He is very respectful about what I have to say. He hears you out right away because he really pays attention. It is amazing. This skill makes him an excellent doctor. I was very particular about little details about my nose, but he listened carefully to make sure we do the changes I want. He often asked me to mark the areas I want to improve. Sometimes he pointed out areas that I overlooked. So it was teamwork.
It is a slow process by nature. You have to wait few months between procedures; sometimes, life gets too busy to bother with it. I also took my time to figure out what I want exactly, so I do not ask for anything I later regret. We built trust by being careful. But being able to control the changes through good communication is empowering- it helped me make peace with my terrible surgery experiences.
It requires patient and commitment, but Dr. Kotler and Mary Jaku made this journey very pleasant. They were always welcoming. They are caring, approachable, and genuine people. I was actually happy to see them regularly, chat with them and get to know them a little more. I am beyond grateful for dr. Kotler helping me be comfortable in my own skin again. Thank you, Dr. Kotler and Mary again.

I Am So Grateful to Dr. Kotler and His Team... Thank You!!!
I decided to write this review to help others and also express my appreciation for Dr. Kotler helping me. In June of 2016 I decided to undergo a surgery to help my breathing problem. I did not put a lot of time into researching doctors because I expected to see the straight version of my natural nose. It is easy, right? No. Since I have learnt that you need a very skilled and patient doctor if you want to see a very little change. It is easier to create a cookie cut nose. At least 50 percent of the bone and cartilage structure was gone after my surgery. I was not be able to smile as I used to. I was not capable to make certain facial expressions. I might have a sensory disorder, being so aware of this- but I just could not get used to how my face felt when I smiled or laughed. We have muscles and nerve endings there, it is not just about how we look. I had a hard time to find a plastic surgeon who was willing to make my nose longer because it was against some aesthetic standard out there. But I found one and made my nose as long as it was before but the projection was not even close to my old nose. It was still uncomfortable to smile. I felt hopeless and that is when I met Dr. Kotler.
Talking to doctors before who knew what was best for me it was so refreshing to meet him. He does not use textbook standards but instead he asks me what I want, what is my preference. I feel respected, I feel that my opinion matters. It is like a team work. (:
I had two injections- approx. two more to go. I am already able to smile comfortably again. The discomfort around the muscles between my nose and mouth is completely gone. I can make those silly facial expressions again. He filled up the lower part of the columella which made all the difference how my smile feels. It is a very gradual process. Of course at the beginning you wish you could rush it, but now going back for touch ups I do not have to worry about some drastic unwanted change.
Mary who helped me to set up the consultation and appointment is very kind and confident of Dr Kotler’s skills. I was very nervous the first time I was there and she put me in ease right away. I went there alone. Very few people know that I am still dealing with the consequences of the choice I made- so it really felt good to receive some support. I do not talk about it anymore because it is not easy to relate unless you went through something like this.
I am incredibly grateful for dr. Kotler helping me to leave this behind He listens and does not leave any room for misunderstanding. He is easy to talk to. Just to give you an example- I pointed out something on my nose but he could not see the problem right away. I asked him to look at it from a different angel- I raised my head- and he saw it and corrected it. Which shows how thoughtful, mindful, careful he is and and he is willing to have a conversation with you. He takes this procedure very seriously and does not want to rush it. He really wants to help getting exactly what I want. He also guides me and wants to make sure we do not misunderstand each other. Good communication is so important during a procedures like this. My advice is to take your time to think through what you want, look at pictures, listen to your inner voice what is best for you, what feels good. If it feels good it will look good because you will be happier. You know your face and nose better than anyone. It is so important to find a doctor who takes your opinion seriously and communicates with you.
I am not exaggerating but for silicone rhinoplasty you will not find anyone more skilled than he is. I met one on the east coast and another on the west coast but they told me they could not help me. One of them even told me it I was not even reasonable in my request. Dr Kotler saw it right away why I want that particular change and also told me I was a good candidate for the procedure. I am so happy that I went for it.
Before meeting Dr. Kotler I looked at all the available youtube videos of him doing silicone rhinoplasty for his patients. I was able to see his kind spirit. I looked at pictures of patients who asked for similar changes I was hoping for. It helped me in my decision process.
