Dr. Diaz is an Artist. He Justs Uses a Scalpel Instead of a Brush

Let me say first off that if you are considering a rhinoplasty, I cannot recommend Dr. Diaz more highly. I had five consults with five different surgeons over a prolonged period of time. I didn't hate my nose but I felt that it wasn't the right fit for the rest of my face. My other features are delicate and a dorsal hump and slightly bulbous droopy tip just didn't match. However, I knew once I made the decision to change it, it cannot be undone. Hence my caution in choosing a surgeon.
Why did I choose Dr. Diaz, especially when I live across the country? Because he's extremely skilled and you can tell he is a surgeon not just because he wants money but because he truly loves helping people achieve the look/happiness they seek. Other surgeons asked me about breathing problems. I didn't have any. Dr. Diaz was the only surgeon to acknowledge that by making the nasal structures smaller it can have an impact on breathing and he has ways to ameliorate this problem with surgical techniques. That alone spoke volumes to me. He also has the Vectra (which I was skeptical of because I had done it with a breast aug consult with a different surgeon and I felt it was not very accurate) but with the rhinoplasty, it was comforting to see the potential result from the front.
He has a surgical suite in his office that is as well equipped as any I've seen. I was the first surgery of the day and the circulating nurse and anesthesiologist were lovely. I was premedicated with Zofran for nausea. I awoke slightly groggy but without confusion. As with anything, perfection isn't possible. This is the only part of my experience that I would offer some constructive criticism. I might have been an unusual patient in that I came alone for surgery and I went to an aftercare facility. The moment I awoke, the two recovery nurses were telling me I had to get ready to go. They took out my IV literally the moment I opened my eyes and never asked if I had pain. They did get my ice chips at my request and I was able to walk to the bathroom. It was stressful basically waking up, being in some pain and basically being told you have to quick hurry up and go.
Once I was at the aftercare, I was given a Norco for pain and I was much better after that. I ended up only needing that 1 dose of pain medicine. I did not bruise much and had minimal swelling. I bled slightly from my nose for about 2 days. I highly recommend getting a Magic Bullet or blender because trying to chew and breathe through your mouth is nearly impossible. The week after I got my cast off was a bit rough psychologically. My nose was kind of snouty and when I looked in the mirror, I wasn't used to my new face. By the end of week 2, I was looking much more like myself. My family was unaware that I had a rhinoplasty. I saw them just after week 3 and only my mother noticed that I had something done. If that doesn't speak to Dr. Diaz's expertise, I'm not sure what does, lol.
Today is week 5. Obviously I still have some swelling which is really only apparent to me because I can feel it and I look at my face daily. My profile is gorgeous and appears almost exactly as the Vectra image, save for the tip swelling. My results are very natural and have really given a more feminine, younger appearance to my face overall. I could not be more pleased. Dr. Diaz is an amazing surgeon.
