Provider Review
Stay away! I was referred to Dr Li to have my ruptured implants removed. The television series Dr 90210 wanted to film my ordeal. They suggested I consult with their new Dr on the show and I agreed. Upon meeting Dr Li I thought that she was professional however I was a bit disturbed with her reaction to me showing her by mri results of the ruptured silicone implants. I explained that I was worried that the silicone could have traveled all over my body. She laughed a bit and said "No, silicone does not travel, it stays in the breast pocket and we just remove it. I knew that she was wrong because my mother's breast implant had ruptured and when they went to remove it they could barely find but half of the silicone! When I told her this she said I was mistaken. I let it go and continued with the consult. She asked what size I wanted to be and I said smaller than I was currently. I didn't know my size but said to her that I definitely wanted to be smaller a normal C cup. She said fine. Fast forward to surgery day. I wake up and while still groggy she comes to me and says, I"m sorry but we didn't have implants small enough for you so we made you bigger!!! I was in shock and said how could that me. She said, well, your's were very small and we just didn't have a selection. Needless to say, I was so upset. Here's the horrible part. The show airs, it shows that all the silicone had dispersed all over and she couldn't get it all out. Months later I started having pain in different parts of my chest and then large lumps started to appear! They hurt and itched like crazy. I knew what this was but went for another MRI and sure enough, I had free flowing silicone all throughout my body! I went to an attorney and 4 consults with other plastic surgeons. They were ALL appalled at Dr Li's behavior and also couldn't believe that she didn't give me a smaller implant, they said they had all sizes! Basically, they told me that if they were to try and remove the free flowing silicone that I would be disfigured, they also didn't think they could remove most of it as it had connected to organs and lymph. It is now years later and I am having so many medical problems. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this DR!
