As with any new procedure, I am always anxious of the unknowns...will it hurt? will there be results? what is the downtime? I can honestly say that all of my fears were allayed at Dr Jason Emer's office. From the moment I stepped through the door, the office staff made me feel at ease. I actually did this procedure in 2 areas, the chest and the face. The pre laser prep was wonderful. I was made comfortable and a numbing cream was put on the skin. Dr Emer is what I would call a medical artist. He listens to your issues and addresses them in a professional manner giving you the best result possible. So to answer my own questions above...did it hurt? not really, the numbing really took the edge off and the pre-medication also minimized side effects.
Were there results? YES! I was amazed that I actually have beautiful baby soft soft skin underneath the damaged layers. Not only did it remove the damaged skin, it also removed some of the wrinkles (bonus!!)
What is the downtime? I was scared that I would not be able to go out in public for a week or so, but in a way, there was NO downtime. My only 'side effect' was that the skin looked like I had a sunburn (the chest area for a few days) the face made me look tan!
Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY YES! Not only is this a great way to prevent skin cancer, your skin looks incredible and feels so baby soft afterwards. I have nothing but the highest compliments for Dr Emer and his staff Colton, Jeremy, and MIchelle for this stress free experience. FIve stars!!
