Great Doctor

UPDATED FROM Courtney9433
1 year post

Update on my Orbital Decompression Surgery.

I wanted to wait a year to completely see the final outcome. Actually I see maybe a very slight improvement in protruding of my right eye. It’s very minuscule. Not worth the money, time off work and traveling. I only bruised around the lower eyelid after surgery, which it seemed quite mild really. My lower eyelid droops a lot lower on that eye. So I will need Retraction Surgery. That was one of my main concerns before opting to do the Surgery; Taban reassured me I would NOT need retraction Surgery so that was a factor in me deciding to go ahead with the Surgery. I am writing this update because I don’t want anyone else to be misled on the Procedure and any Deceptiveness of everything that most of the time is needed afterwards. These Doctors need to be held more Accountable for deceiving the public with switch and bait tactics.

Sorry to hear about your recent update. You were doing great and happy at previous update after surgery and I haven't seen you since then. Orbital decompression is a complex procedure with risks involved so being conservative is important. In addition, it is also important to understand that orbital decompression addresses bulging eye, but it does not elevate the lower eyelids in most patients with rare exceptions; that is always stressed by me prior to surgery. In fact, I have a publication that discusses the benefit of concurrent lower eyelid retraction surgery with orbital decompression surgery which clearly explains what each procedure does and doesn't do so I am sorry if you were not clear about the expectations of the surgery. You can find the manuscript on following link. If I can still help you or answer any questions, please contact me or my office directly.

Great Doctor

I am so happy that I found Dr. Taban after having an unecessary procedure done by a Plastic Surgeon for exophthalmos/potosis in my home State. He determined the right procedure I needed for my condition (Orbital Decompression). I recommend you really do your research in choosing a well trained Surgeon so you don’t get the wrong procedures recommended and end up having to get those reversed or corrected on top of the correct procedure needed in the end. I am now 10 weeks post op and my Finally look even. I am so happy with my results.
