I traveled from Canada to LA for have lower eyelid retraction and ptosis surgery. Dr. Taban's demeanor was serious, which I appreciate in a surgeon. He was realistic in what he could do and over delivered with the results.
The results for the ptosis surgery in particular is nothing short of incredible. For those of you reading this who want to get your ptosis fixed, very rarely will surgeons hit a home run with it. It takes a very, very good surgeon to fix it and even then sometimes results can be finicky. Taban hit a homerun, and my upper eyelids are symmetrical; not just a little symmetrical, completely! My lower eyelid retraction surgery results is also better than what he promised during the in person consultation. I'm very very happy with my results. The before and after is night and day.
After the surgery, he was pretty available, responding to emails in under 20 minutes. The responses were short, but to the point. I e-mailed him close to over 50 times with questions I had as the healing progressed. Believe me, having an accessible surgeon is of vital importance.
That said, I didn't care for his staff. In fact, I found two of them pretty cold and one of them was pretty ditzy, but ultimately, five stars for the results which is all people should really care about.
From my experience, if you want great results, go to Taban. Like any surgery, it was a big decision, but I'm SO happy that the results. In fact, my girlfriend, who models and relies on her face for work, is going to take the plunge and get work done with the Doctor just because she's so blown away by my results.
