I spent over 20 years being ashamed of my body, wearing pants with elastic waists, and baggy shirts to cover my huge, protruding belly. I intend to give all those clothes away and buy my first pair of jeans in years!
Dr. Sheila Nazarian was a very caring doctor who took the time to explain all the details of the surgery and answer all my questions and concerns. Her wonderful assistant , Alexa, was very helpful as well, answering all my emails, even on the weekend! Tanya in her office was a wonderful source of encouragement. The fact that my plastic surgeon is a woman was a plus for me as well, because I felt she understood my body issues and what I wanted the end result to be.
I still have a ways to go in my recovery, but this has already helped my self esteem. I am an older woman, and I feel with the right doctor, that it is never too late to do something about your body and love yourself again.

I began my body makeover journey 4 years ago when I was facing my 60th birthday. I was nearly 50 pounds overweight after having 4 children and years of unhealthy eating habits. I managed to lose most of the weight by following a strict diet. But the results were disappointing. The extra weight was gone, but I was left with sagging breasts and loose skin on my abdomen. Not the result I was looking for! I initially went to see Dr. Nazarian for a tummy tuck. At the appointment, she suggested a breast lift as well. She also said a blepharoplasty and a lower facelift would help the sagging skin on my eyes and neck. She performed 2 separate surgeries on me, with lipo done by Dr. Jason Emer. The results surpassed anything I dreamed of. Now in my 60's, I have the fit and beautiful body I always wanted. My breasts are lifted, my abdominal area is taut and toned, with not an ounce of flab or loose skin. I can wear tight-fitting clothes and have cast off the baggy shirts and jackets I used to wear. My eyes and neck look more youthful as well. My kids are so proud of me and I have my self confidence back. I am working out and maintaining my weight loss because Dr. Nazarian gave me back the body of my youth, far surpassing my expectations when I started this journey. She is a skilled and empathetic doctor who understands exactly what a woman is looking for when she seeks plastic surgery to improve her body. She took time to explain all my options, understand my goals, and helped me achieve them and even surpass them. She continued to track my progress after the surgeries, up until this day. Her staff is amazing as well, responsive and professional, especially her assistant, Alexa Yontz. I highly recommend Dr. Nazarian for a body makeover. She is an extremely talented plastic surgeon and the fact that she is a woman was a plus for me. I was more comfortable discussing my body issues with a surgeon who understands how a woman wants to look, and that this was not only a physical but an emotional journey as well. I wish I had done this earlier, but I am proof that you're never too old, it's never too late to improve yourself!
