Lipedema Liposuction -- my Life Changed - Beverly Hills, CA

WORTH IT
I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lipedema in June 2014 and the treatment plan that Dr. Herbst gave me included Tumescent Liposuction--as a cure for Lipedema.
I consulted several plastic surgeons who were clueless what Lipedema was, and one offered a 'thigh lift' in place of the liposuction--a major surgery that could damage my already faltering lymph system. Dr. Amron was knowledgeable about Lipedema, I didn't have to educate him, and was extremely sensitive to my personal embarrassment of the disfiguring disorder. Two weeks post-op I had dropped from a size 18 to size 14 pants! I am now 4 weeks post op and thrilled with the results and am not even to the final point that I will be after healing. I highly recommend Dr. Amron and his staff were also extremely helpful.

Hi, I hope you have recovered in the meantime. Are you still satisfied with your legs? No irregularities, dimples, etc.? Would like to know, I also suffer from lipedema and had several lipos but I am not satisfied with my results.
Do you mind if I ask who did your liposuction? I had liposuction for my lipedema 2 times in 2014 & they have had plenty time to heal. I am not satisfied at all with the outcome. I can't even call them "results" because my legs look the same as they did before surgery. What are your plans for future surgery?
Thanks!
Crissy
I'm so sorry to hear you're unhappy with your outcome. That must be incredibly frustrating. I have lipedema also and am considering traditional liposuction - as my PS says water or laser based lipo will be too damaging to the cells.

But the thought of the pain, two weeks bedrest and six weeks in compression stockings in the high heat and humidity (I live in Singapore) has me worried. Especially if it's all for nothing!

My weight is stable between 62-67kg and when I'm slimmer my legs are smaller but are still swollen and painful from the lipedema. This is my last resort but it's a lot to go through if it doesn't work!
I had several lipos by several doctors in Germany, Europe. I am still considering my options. I have been going to consultations to various doctors to hear their opinions. The sad thing is that the more lipos you have, the less chance to improve things.
I have lipedema also and am considering gentle traditional liposuction on my lower legs, cankles and inner knees. My PS says he'll be very gentle to avoid more trauma to the cells but I am still nervous about the procedure, recovery and results! The op will be done in Singapore where I'm living - I'm Australian - and there are no lipedema specialists here.

How has your long term recovery been? Are you still happy with the results? Did you end of day swelling and pain from lipedema decrease? Would you recommend having liposuction?

The thought of two weeks bedrest and six weeks in compression stockings in the high heat and humidity here has me worried. But if it works I'll be so thrilled.

Do you have any before and after photos? Sorry for all the questions. It's just so hard to figure out if trying lipo is worth it. Thanks
I was a patient of Dr Amron too, last October. I will be writing a review soon. He is amazing. I did Lipo on my arms, calves, and thighs. Changed my life! I was a size 8/10 155 lbs. Post surgery I was a size 6 145 lbs. I am now a 4/6 133 lbs. (I am on ketogenic diet, which has helped with additional weight loss. ) I cannot wait to do my after photos after 1 year. I haven’t been this tiny since junior high. <3
