"Going the extra mile" does not even begin to...
"Going the extra mile" does not even begin to describe Dr. Kotler; he is a truly gift surgeon and all-around wonderful person. I do not even have words to express how unbelievable he is and how he has changed my life - not just with the surgery, but with the care and concern that he genuinely showed to me and my family.
But let's start at the beginning: I was a little apprehensive about getting my nose done. I have always wanted to remove the bump on my nose and make it more feminine, however, I also did not want it to look "done" or change the way I looked. Most of the plastic surgeons I saw in Beverly Hills wanted to give me a little button nose, or a small cute nose, which just does not fit my face. I have a big nose - let’s face it - I’d look ridiculous with a small nose. Most of the people I saw were talented, but I still left their offices a little unsure and wondering if I would be making the right choice.
Right when I walked in Dr. Kotler's office, I could sense there was something a little different there. It is more of a medical atmosphere (i.e. there to heal and help), rather than an “inject there/nip-this-tuck-that” shop that churns clients in and out of the office with promises of never aging. I wasn't a "case" to Dr. Kotler; he really cared and wanted to hear my story, my wishes, and about who I was. He was humble, enthusiastic and heard everything I had to say. I left his office certain that he was the right man for the job, and he sure delivered everything he promised and more.
So prior to the surgery, I was given his cell number, home number and office number and told to call anytime. The nurse, Mary (a GODSEND!) had already walked me through EVERYTHING and even saw me during non-business hours to make sure I had all the information and was prepared. The surgery day was calm and relaxing - everyone knew what they were doing; they were a succinct team, and I was thrice reassured that I was in great hands.
I will start by saying that I had broken my nose pretty badly when I was a kid, and also had terrible allergies, so the functional aspects of the surgery were fairly extensive compared to the cosmetic portion. This is why I was SOOOOOO RELIEVED that I choose a doctor who KNEW what he was doing and had a great team since it was a bigger surgery than most nose jobs. He went above and beyond to make sure the structural part of the nose were reconstructed to perfection.
Once I went home, Dr. Kotler called (personally) that night and every day for the next 4 days and talked to me, my mom, and my dad. He even called on Easter Morning to check on me and see how I was doing and if I needed anything. And maybe I am just a tough lady, but I think the pain was NOTHING. I NEVER took the pain pills or any tylenol after the surgery (and I had a lot of structural changes!). It really speaks to the care and meticulousness of Dr. Kotler that didn’t treat my face like a construction project. I will re-emphasize - I never needed ANY pain meds.
So the results: When I got the cast off 4 days after the surgery, I was immediately thrilled! It was still swollen, and a bit black and blue, but it looked great and immediately and I knew I would love it. Dr. Kotler had honored the shape of my nose and my face, but refined the bridge, slimmed the tip, and straightened the profile. He is a true artist. The changes were subtle but impactful and I feel like the same person (just better)! Everyone keeps telling me I looked great and couldn’t put a finger on what was different. Even my best friend for 15 years kept asked me if I had changed my hair. I am so so pleased.
Listen, when getting your nose done, it is easy to weigh the pros and cons, look at the cost and try to go with the most economical, or easiest choice. I was leaning that way before the nose job. And since insurance was going to pay for part of it, I wanted to use someone in-network to cut costs… BUT, this is your face… talk about an investment that lasts forever. Let me repeat - YOUR FACE… the first thing someone sees when they meet you. Don’t let anyone that “seems” good, go in with a hammer and a “good” team to rearrange your face, when you could have an EXCEPTIONAL surgeon, with a FANTASTIC team gently and thoughtfully enhance your face. I will always always consider this a great decision and money well spent. ALWAYS.

Dr. Kotler is talented, humble, enthusiastic, and loves what he does for a living. This all comes across in the care and attention he gives everyone. I could not be more thrilled that I met Dr. Kotler and chose him to do my surgery.
