I'm going throught so many emotions at this point....
$4,000
I'm going throught so many emotions at this point. Its only a couple days before my surgery. I am so extremely excited but can't help to also be nervous. I have wanted to have a nose job my whole life. In elementary school I was constantly picked on because my nose was so large and it has since then always be my number one insecurity. I'm nervous about the proceded and about the outcome because I have very high expectations since it's something that I have wanted for so long. I really hope I made the right decision by choosing this doctor!

My nose was a littlw more dramatic looking than yours and mine kinda stuck out of my face more. I think you will be happy with the results but you will have to wait a while to see how it all looks. When I finally took off the tape it was a bit startling to me! Good luck and keep posted!

Surgery was a success! Finally over
My appointment was scheduled to begin at 10am, however as I was on my way I received a called from Alina(the assistant) telling me that I would begin right away once I got to the office. Scary! It was moved up like 1.5 hours.
Once I was there I had to fill out about six sheets of paper work all requiring signatures as expected. Then I was taken in. First they gave me an iv, or as Dr Srour would say, my breakfast. That was nice since I was starving. Then the drugs. The anesthesia was given through my veins so I was basically awake the entire just without feeling to my nose. However I wasn't protected from the pressure of Dr.Srou. At first the procedure seemed fine(first 15minutes or so) up until he began scraping down on my nose. It was intense. First it was tolerable pain but sadly, then it got much worse. The pain was so extreme. I was crying and screaming, at one point he had to stop and tell the nurse to issue me more pain medication and honestly he seemed upset. Unfortunately it didn't help that much as the pain was very sever. In addition, I was also totally freaked out by the loud crack my nose made as it was broken. It made me feel very uneasy. The nurse durning my surgery was the nicest person I have ever been treated by. Her name was Olga. She held me hand the entire time as I was crying and upset for the majority of he procedure. Idk. Maybe I have an extremely low tolerance for pain? At on point I really thought I was going to pass out, thank goodness I didn't. After it was finished they warped my nose and put on a cast. Medication your under during the procedure takes a few hours
(about 6) to fully pass through your system. They send you off with 15 norco pills for pain and your all set! I'm hoping for the best and will be back in his office later today(the day after procedure) to remove packing from my nostrils. I'm nervous!

The packing in the nostrils was the MOST uncomfortable!! You have waaay less bleeding than I did. scared me sooo bad when he broke the nasal bone too. All is good though. Im feeling way more confident about my appearance. Hope that you will too!!

lol looks like i posted that 3 times (it wouldnt let me leave comments yesterday). my suggestion is that even with the cast on leave off the sunglasses and definately when the cast is off dont wear the glasses... i had an indentation by the glasses that lasted a while. You dont want that! Keep your head elevated & rest up

Lol I noticed it posted a lot lol no worries though! Okay I won't use glasses after the cast comes off. Thank you. Your the best

I don't think your suppose to have pain while undergoing surgery? Twilight or not you are not supposed to have pain! I hope the results are worth it!

I had the same feelings as you did. Maybe I wasn't given enough meds. July rhing I could think of. Also I had so much bleeding. I could feel the cold liquid all over my face it was so weird

February 8, 2016
I cant say my experience was exactly the same but it did seem that when he started to scrape (I heard it and youch!) the med they used seemed to be wearing off there was some ouchiness but for the most part not pain... just pressure :/ Im sorry you had such a time. Luckily I tolerated it until he stopped. I didnt move or scream because I remember being scared!! lol He also finished in about an hour... I could NOT down those narco pills after... all they did was make me feel tremedously weird so I just took regular extra strength tylenol which worked the same or better without the additional loopy feeling

Wow! How scary!! I'm a chicken I would of probably passed out!!! Twilight not for me!

February 12, 2016
Oh no I'm sorry please don't feel bad for me I'm so happy I had the procedure honestly! I just wanted to tell my full experience so that others wouldn't be afraid or shocked as I was.
I know I was praying the whole time, it was one of the toughest things I've ever done because if I moved I'd possibly mess up my nose and I ddint want that of course but the pain was so intense. I know right?!! The pills also had that effect of me. But I had to take a few over the following three days the pain was too much for me not to.

Iam doing my research since iam interested in rhinoplasty myself. sorry it was really painful. How are you feeling now? So can i ask you were given twilight? I thought once you go under you're out.

February 12, 2016
No it's okay.its all done now. I did have a large hump so maybe he had to apply more pressure than normal. I'm feeling a lot better now. Basically all normal aside from some tenderness to the bridge of my nose though. Expected of course.

Oh and to answer your question about the twilight anesthesia, it's basically a method where your body is somewhat completely numb yet your able to talk and breath on your own. Some surgeons believe it's safer and I believe it's also much more cost efficient. I will say this though, if your an emotion person like myself and panick easily, I'd recommend you asking for a tranquilizer prior to surgery, that will help calm your nerves tremendously and make for a great experience. Otherwise chose a surgery center that will put you completely out. Good luck I'm so excited for you! Please keep me updated with your search. :)

Oh my gosh sounds like a nightmare! Why the heck were you awake for this?!?!?

February 12, 2016
No it wasn't a nightmare I promise, it was just really scary!!
As I said, maybe I have a really low tolerance for pain and also I think they didn't give me enough meds to numb me, but I was still highly drugged and couldn't really feel anything else except for the pressure of my doctor when he was scrapping the hump down and when the nose was broken. Twilight is like your eyes and mind are awake but you can't feel anything it's weird, difficult to explain. Your not unconscious but your sedated.
