Dr Yoo has great bedside manner. He also was very skilled with removing my synthetic implant and replacing it with DCF. Aesthetically, however, we were not a match. I had asked for a natural result but ultimately received an overbuilt bridge and tip compared to my more petite, Asian features. I don't regret my experience, but I do wish we communicated more in detail and candidly about the final expectations. Most disappointing is that when I brought up my concerns, I was treated like a new patient. I expected more in terms of quality not quantity (from the outcome and the service.) I hope this is helpful. Regardless of the Dr you choose, communication is key - and not just explaining what you do and do not want, but ensuring the Dr can explain the same and follows through vs. creating what is aesthetically pleasing to them.

Very true. My doctor imposed his aesthetic on me. Horrible. Depressing and now I need revision for a surgery I never wanted

Hey! I say our review and I'd love to see some pictures as wel as I'm considering a revision to help raise my bridge but I don't know if it's worth the risks and complications (it'll be my 3rd revision). Thanks so much and thank you for sharing!

How long ago was your surgery? I thought my nose was over projected until 8 months but it kept on changing its shape And eventually shrank in size. Revisions take longer to heal. ~2 yrs.

@rhino111 who did your revision? Can you PM me? Are you happy with your revision? What did you need in revision?

Thank you. My procedure was 2 years ago. I was very patient with the recovery process and chose not to leave a review until now as I wanted to ensure it was a realistic, objective opinion of my experience.

Thank you for your questions. Because I'm very close to the revision date, I prefer not to share info about my new PS just yet. I will leave an objective review further out, when I can determine final results. I am happy so far but very cautious, at this point. It's just too soon, I hope you understand. The revision did include re shaping the bulky DCF to a more natural form and adjusting bridge and tip height and width. Also, a bump that was never there previously had developed and caused pain to the touch. When I had asked Dr Yoo, he mentioned this was likely my own cartilage and would not be able to address it. Even my new PS wasn't sure if he could address, but during the revision it was determined that the bump was caused by the DCF materials - the overlay had started to curl. To be fair, even my new PS agreed that Dr Yoo did a good job with the DCF and de rotating my tip. It was the natural aesthetic that was ultimately missed. All else was completed skillfully.

Hi @rhinosucks
Dr. Yoo did my revision 2 years ago. (2 years and 3 months to be exact) It was my 4th revision. He took out my annoying synthetic implant and replaced it with rib cartilage and fascia. In my personal experience, Dr. Yoo was very detailed and clear about what my expectation should be. Although he said NO to every single thing on my wishlist, he actually gave me a much better nose than I thought I would ever have. I truly think he is gifted (most PS didn't want to touch my nose because they thought my implant was too big and I wouldn't be happy with ear or rib)
I'm sorry that @RevisionDecision has to get a revision. I've had 4 surgeries in the past 11 years and I know how that feels. Good luck with your revision and be positive!

@Optimistic11
I didn't write a review for Dr. Yoo yet (even after 2 years!) because I'm not brave enough to share my pictures but your comment makes me want to write one!
Anyway, at 4 months you are wayyyy too early in your recovery. It's supposed to look overdone because of the swelling. Even at 6 months, my tip still looked like a ball, bridge too wide and I felt like the whole thing was just too much for my face. I remember I was hurt and depressed by what people said about my nose and how I look mixed and blah blah. Trust me...even my mother said I should have left the implant alone. My swelling went down very slowly and I started to like my nose around 8 months. Then, I liked it a little more each day. I stopped caring about what others said, stopped reading every single comment on RS and just focused on myself. I think drinking lots of fluid helps tremendously.
I'd say just worry less and enjoy this recovery journey. I've done it 4 times and I finally learned that lesson after the last one. Good luck with your recovery and think positive.

Please do write a review even if it's not stellar, it's realistic. I've been researching for a few years now to have a revision rhinoplasty. I think I'm finally ready but it's so hard to find the right PS. Your review would help a lot to understand your PS' approach and weigh whether if it right for me.
