Mid 30s Male Forehead Reduction
I'm a bit late in getting started, so I'll...
I'm a bit late in getting started, so I'll summarize my first several days in one post.
Pre-op consultation:
I had a video chat with Dr. Aharonov a few months prior. I met with Dr. Aharonov in person for the first time the morning before my surgery, after flying in the night before. We agreed on a new hairline, about 2-2.5 cm lower. My head is a bit big which means my scalp is also naturally on the tight side. This was the most he felt he could comfortably do given my scalp tightness, and anymore wouldn't be proportional to my face anyways. This is where I was thinking to go originally too. I spent the rest of the day looking around Beverly Hills and getting some rest before the big day.
Surgery day:
The surgery centre is in the same building as Dr. Aharonov's office, so it was really convenient. I arrived at 7 am and filled out some forms and was led inside to get prepped. Dr. Aharonov met with me again before the surgery and drew my new hairline just to confirm one final time. All I remember is laying down on the surgery table and then I was waking up in the same bed I was originally prepped, with my partner and a nurse beside me. The nurse called a cab for us and I was back in bed by noon. Dr. Aharonov called me late afternoon, to check up on me and left me his cell number in case anything happened.
That evening was rough since I had a hard time coming off the anesthesia. I was nauseous and threw up a couple of times. It's happened to me before, so it's no fault of the doctor or anesthesiologist; it's just my reaction to anesthesia. The anti-nausea pills I was given didn't help (maybe because I might have thrown them up too before they got digested lol). On top of that, the back of my head and neck were very sore. Apparently, according to the nurse, Dr. Aharonov performed quite the procedure in the operating room since I was so tight that he really had to work my scalp to bring my hairline down far enough. As a result, the back of my neck got bruised and was quite sore and swollen. It also hurt somewhat to lay down on the back of my head, even with my pain medication.
One Day Post-Surgery:
I met with Dr. Aharonov in the morning and got my bandages removed. The hairline was pretty much exactly where I had originally envisioned it, so I was happy. I showered that night and it was a bit time consuming for me since I was trying to be extra careful with all the staples and sutures in my scalp. It's also difficult to get all the ointment out completely, so my hair looks and feels kind of greasy in the parts where I need to apply it. I took some Ibuprofen throughout the day to help manage the pain on the back of my head and neck. I rested the entire day so I could be in good shape flying back home the next day.

Hi Alex! What issues are you having? Mind emailing us at contactus@realself.com?
Your new hairline looks great. :) Are you doing anything in particular to help with the discomfort?
Anyways, I've just been taking some Ibuprofen before sleeping to help with the discomfort so I don't wake up in the middle of the night.
