After contemplating this procedure for a year, I decided to go for it! I did my research and decided Dr. James Pearson was the best doctor and a true specialist in lip implants. I highly recommend Dr. Pearson. Words cannot describe how kind and courteous he and his staff are. I absolutely loved going to his office. The ambience Dr. Pearson and his lovely staff create is calming and friendly.
I got 4mm implants on the top and bottom lip. (I also got two moles removed, which Dr. Pearson also performed perfectly! I could not be happier with the result of the mole removals. You would never know there were ever moles in their respective spots, Dr. Pearson did such an excellent job! And how convenient to be able to go to a doctor who could do mole removals and lip implants in one visit!)
Before inserting the implant, Dr. Pearson did an excellent--and very patient--job answering all of my many questions. I was completely at ease.
After the procedure, Dr. Pearson personally called me to make sure I was doing ok. Then, he and his staff continued to follow up with me with text messages. You really feel like Dr. Pearson and his staff care about you because they do!!
I had lots of bruising and swelling a few hours after the implants were inserted. The bruising lasted about two weeks for me, but I bruise easily! My top implant result is absolute perfection! Dr. Pearson did an amazing job! After about a month and a half, I decided to remove the bottom implant and replace it with a size 5mm implant. I really should have just stuck with the 4mm. As you can see from the pictures, I don't have a very wide mouth. I think this is why the 5mm wasn't for me. My husband thought it made my mouth too wide, so I ended up removing the bottom 5mm implant.
Currently, I do not have an implant in my bottom lip, but I have kept the top lip 4mm implant. Sooner or later, I think I will go back to Dr. Pearson to have the 4mm implant put back in my bottom lip. I am in no rush because I am very happy with my lips as they currently are. Somehow, my bottom lip is bigger now, even without an implant, than it was before implants. I think it may be due to residual scar tissue? Hey, if scar tissue makes my lip bigger, than I am all for it! :) But I do look forward to getting that natural-looking pouty-ness the 4 mm implant gave my bottom lip. Something to look forward to!
If you are on the fence about doing lip implants, I say go for it! I thought about it for a year before going through with it. If you end up deciding it isn't for you, it is so easy to take the implant out! And if you decide to keep them, you will be so happy and much more confident!
