My mid-section has always been my problem area....

My mid-section has always been my problem area. Even before I hit 30, had babies and was a size 2 I never had a flat stomach. The gym was not my friend and when I did work out consistently the mid-section would show no results. I have always been curvy and on the smaller side, but have never felt good in a bathing suit and always felt plagued with the dreaded tire. After years of contemplating and lots of research I decided to get Lipo and hope it jump starts me to have the best body possible. So far I am so happy I did.

It can be so frustrating to be consistent, yet not see the results we're hoping for. Did you feel any pain during or immediately after the procedure?

Day of Procedure

JayCee87
The day of the procedure was a lot longer of a day than I had expected, but overall the experience was a great one. My appointment was at 2pm and I think the first maybe 2 hours we spent waiting, completing forms, counting money (I paid cash), and getting all the pre-op markings and vitals. I felt anxious to get started, but at ease about my decision. Once Dr. Yovino came in everything moved along. The entire staff was very warm and friendly and make you feel very comfortable.

The procedure itself.... You're given a shot of demerol, some anti-anxiety meds, some pain meds and anti-nausea meds along with laughing gas. I was completely awake and listened to my own playlist, but quite honestly my memory of conversations etc are spotty. I wouldn't say that it was pain free, but nothing was unbearable and Dr. Yovino was very sensitive to areas that seemed to bother me and would administer more numbing. I got a lot of areas done so I was there a long time. I had a full abdomen done including lower back and tailbone, my bra rolls and a small area below my neck (buffalo hump). The only time I felt pain was below my neck and around my rib areas. Afterwards they move you to another room for a bit of recovery where you're given fluids and allowed to rest for a bit.

That night I don't remember being in much pain, but the drainage is a bit shocking even though they warn you. Really getting up out of bed or sitting up were the main discomforts along with trying to get comfortable with all the garments and foam.

Day 2/3

JayCee87
Day 2- I spent most of day 2 resting and watching television. Definitely not pain free, but nothing unmanageable. I would say mostly discomfort and the only points of moderate pain were moving positions or going from laying to sitting or standing and the incision points sting. Under my neck and under my arms are experiencing the most discomfort. I was moving really freely, but would get tired.

Day 3- Shower day!!!! You definitely need someone there to help you when you shower. I did get dizzy when taking of my garments and it was mildly painful to move into the shower. When the water hits the incision points it does sting at first, but that goes away after you are in for a little bit. I was moving very slow and was sore, but was able to wash my hair etc without any issues. After the shower I got VERY nauseas, felt like I was going to pass out and even threw up. I am not sure if it was the lack of compression, the shower itself, being too active too quickly that day or the medication, but I was sick to my stomach for hours and couldn't hold anything down. I finally texted Dr. Yovino and he had me stop the antibiotics and lay with my feet elevated which helped pretty quickly. That day I didn't want to eat much of anything, but did eat a lot of low sodium crackers, some oatmeal and a protein shake. Other than being sick to my stomach I was up and moving around, playing with my nephews and even doing chores around the house. I still felt sore and could tell when I was over doing it and needed to rest, but if I didn't get sick the pain was tolerable enough to resume my normal routine if I had to.

The best part of the day was seeing my results after when I took my garments off to shower.... I had more bruising than I had imagined (I bruise VERY easily), but AMAZING!!!! The shape Dr. Yovino gave me is unbelievable and I can't believe the results I see in such a short period of time. Very happy girl.
