I had been contemplating getting forehead...

I had been contemplating getting forehead reduction surgery (aka hairline lowering) for as long as I can remember. I would research doctors, look at before and after photos, read stories from people who were struggling with the same issue, and look at my savings account balance to see if I could afford giving someone that much money for a smaller forehead...
I had two consults with two separate doctors and still didn't schedule the surgery. I was worried about so many things! The surgery, the cost, the end result, recovery, and whether or not I was willing to let a plastic surgeon cut into my most prized possession - my face!
After years of having this strong desire to go through with the procedure, I finally told myself I was going to do it. I was going to stop procrastinating and stop trying to convince myself that it was a good idea. I KNEW it was a good idea, I knew it was what I wanted and I knew it would help my self confidence. I was tired of hiding my forehead and wearing hats every chance I had. Sooooo....I scheduled the surgery, flew to Beverly Hills and let one of the top doctors in the country, Dr. Gal Aharonov cut open my scalp to reduce the size of my forehead. He explained every detail of the procedure so I knew what to expect and was kind and caring throughout the entire process (along with his amazing assistant, Faye - love her). He called me a few hours after surgery to check on me (what surgeon does that? None that I know!) and was so excited to show me my new forehead the next day. He unwrapped the bandages and I was shocked to see the results! It didn't seem real - I thought I was dreaming. I had the most beautiful forehead. And It fit my face so well!
One thing I appreciated about Dr. Aharonov was his honesty and compassion for his patients. He told me stories about patients coming to see him to get the surgery and turning them away because they weren't good candidates. He doesn't care about money, he cares about his patients and doing what is best for them. He's genuine and real, people! I would recommend him to every person in the world who desires to have this surgery. You will not be disappointed. He is an artist when it comes to the face and especially this surgery! There were several other people (from different parts of the country) who were getting the same procedure the same day I was. If you've been contemplating this surgery, take the plunge and do it. Life is too short to be self-conscious about something that can be fixed.

2.5 Weeks Post Surgery
BunnyLove18June 24, 2017
It's been almost 3 weeks since I had surgery and I'm feeling better than I expected. The scar is healing nicely and the scabbing is beginning to peel off.
My head is still pretty sore and tender and the top of my head is completely numb - very little feeling, but I'm expecting that to come back with time.
People at work keep asking me if I've done something different with my hair. They can't figure it out! And that's great for me - I didn't tell anyone other than a few of my family members and close friends.
No regrets!

Wow love how subtle of a difference it is. It's nobody's business but your own!

May I ask why you chose this doc over others? I'm debating between him and Dr. Jason Champagne.

I researched several different doctors over the course of 5 years and always came back to Dr. A. He specializes in this surgery and has performed this procedure on thousands of people. I also read a ton of reviews and he had the best ones.

You look great now you must be so happy. Do you have any close up photos of the scar? Did you experience any hair loss?

3 Months Post Surgery

3 months post surgery and feeling great! Hair is starting to sprout through the scar and the scar is definitely less noticeable. My head has been extremely itchy and scratching doesn't help. I'm assuming it's the nerves growing back on the top of my head. Also, I'm still a little sore on the back of my head and I get sharp pains from time to time. Nothing major though. The itchy scalp is the biggest issue for me right now. But! Totally worth it. I'm loving my new forehead!!

Hi, have you noticed any hair loss? I'm scheduled for October 5th with Dr Aharonov. How's your healing now?
September 25, 2017
Hi there, congrats on your upcoming surgery! U did not experience any hair loss, thankfully. Healing is going great. Hair is already sprouting from the scar and no more pain, just soreness on the top of my head and where the incision is. It's been almost 4 months since I had the surgery. I'm also experiencing a lot of itchiness on the top of my scalp. I'm constantly scratching my head. It drives my boyfriend crazy. :-)
Any other questions, please ask!
Best of luck with your surgery!

You look fabulous! I'm glad to hear his patients have a great recovery. My hair is thin already that's why I was scared of shock hair loss. Is your hair thick? Can you see scars when your hair is wet? When will I be able to wear my hair back without any scar being obvious? Looks like your last pic you are comfortable with your hair pulled entirely back.

Thank you so much! My hair is thin also and I haven't experienced any hair loss. It's a little thinner up top where the incision is, but Dr. A said it would be difficult to determine the thickness of the hair until after a year or two when the scar is fully healed and all of the new hair growth has come in. The scar is not visible anymore after 4 months, it's so light and matches the color of my skin. I started wearing my hair up after 2 months. It's a little awkward having the baby hairs growing through the scar because they stick straight up, but I've been taking biotin every day to help.

Wow! Thank goodness. I can't wait to be able to freely wear my hair back without feeling self cautious. I think your review was one of the ones to help me finalize my choice on Dr A. I'm so glad this procedure works just as well for thin hair

You will look amazing and you'll be in the best hands with Dr. A. I have no regrets! I get excited to wear my hair in a ponytail now - which I NEVER did before. I wish you all the best! Please send pictures and keep in touch!! XoXo

Bunnylove did you use any scar cream?
September 27, 2017
No scar cream. Dr. A didn't recommend putting anything on the scar. He said it will heal naturally on its own.
