I just had my hairline lowering surgery 2 weeks...

I just had my hairline lowering surgery 2 weeks ago with dr. Aharonov. I traveled from VERY far away, all the way from a small country in Europe to get this surgery done and I came with my parents who were my caretakers for the time being, with them both taking time off of work to be there for me, which was pretty difficult cause my dad is a lawyer and is quite busy. And I can't really say that I am pleased and would do it again. I must say that even though I do like the results because my forehead looks a lot better than before, this is going to be an overall negative review. I admit that my forehead is better, in that it is not as big as it used to. But my hairline LITERALLY looks crooked. I don't know why this is, I'm guessing it's dr. Aharonov's negligence, but it is genuinely a lot lower on one side and higher on the other. But I am definitely planning on fixing that with some hair grafts, so I'm not stressing too much, and it does look a lot better than before, so it's not that bad. He also SUPPOSEDLY lifted my brows. Although, they look ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENT. The main problem with that is that I payed for a brow lift as well, but it seems to me I didn't get one. Or if he did perform it, it is still not noticeable at all. And while I did ask for a 'natural look', I didn't think that meant I'd look no different than I naturally do. But that's not even the problem that I have with him. The main problem that I have with him is that he is SO RUDE. He's nice to you when you come in for a consultation cause he's basically trying to buy you, he even went as far as to say 'I don't care about the money, I just wanna make sure I'm helping people' during our consult, which I thought was ridiculous coming from a plastic surgeon who basically makes money by exploiting people's insecurities (what a noble and generous job lol), but whatever.. I just have to say that I am SO DISAPPOINTED in how he treated me (and from what I've heard, several other patients as well) afterwards, when I came in for my stitches removal and a check up, he was so dismissive of all my questions and when he was taking the stitches out, he was SO ROUGH and it started bleeding, but he didn't even give me a tissue, so I had blood pouring down my face when I left his office, it was disgusting. It definitely taught me to be careful when picking out a surgeon, you really can't place your trust in just anyone. And if someone does decide to go with dr. Aharonov, make sure you DON'T GO TOO LOW. He showed me a few pics of his old patients and even he said he thought that some of them went too low and it really does look bizarre. Because this is a surgery you CAN'T FIX. If you go too low, you can't reverse it and get your skin back cause it's gone forever. I like the size of my forehead now, I feel like it's the perfect size, it's not too low or too high, it's just what I wanted. But it's still always better to go a little higher than too low, cause too low is just scary, in my opinion. I'm glad at least one good thing came out of this experience, the size of my forehead is just right. However, dr. Aharonov should definitely work on his bedside manners and how he treats his parents after he's taken their money, cause he made it pretty clear to me he just doesn't care after that point. I've had quite a few plastic surgeries in my life, and I've never met such a rude and arrogant surgeon. I've had two plastic surgeries last year on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills very close to where dr. Aharonov's office is, and that surgeon was a 100 times more polite and professional in how he treated me before AND after surgery, so I know it's not a case of European surgeons being nicer than American surgeons, it's simply a case of dr. Aharonov being a rude, disrespectful, dismissive surgeon.

Two weeks is entirely too soon to make a judgement about the final result! Give it time! Just before surgery, he shaves the fine wispy baby hairs many of us have at our hairline, and then a few months later, hair will grow through the scar! So you won't know what it looks like for a few months. Don't be hard on yourself. It's normal after any procedure to second guess yourself, but don't. I'm sure this has bothered you your whole life, and now you probably look much improved! Post pics! I bet we will all think you look great!

It's not terrible, it's obviously a lot better than before, but it's far from perfect.. I guess my expectations were too high, I expected a straight round hairline, but he made it higher on one side and lower on the other, which is strange.. But whatever, I guess it can be fixed with some hair grafts, I'd just rather not have to go through that.

Like I said, hair will grow through the scar and some of the hairs that he shaved preop will start to fill in areas. You have to be patient! Didn't he mark you before surgery, and the two of you agreed on the goal of where the final hairline would be? Was the hairline he marked pretty close to what you have? Sometimes you don't have enough scalp laxity to bring it down as much as you'd like, especially if you've already had hair grafts or any facial procedures. How uneven was your hairline to start? It would be difficult to advance one part and not another, unless it was only a small difference. That's just physics! You're being too harsh on yourself, and on Dr Gal! Give it time, and you'll love your final hairline :)

It's interesting how people have different opinion of Dr. A. It just really hard to trust surgeons these days.. But maybe he was having a bad day but still.. don't take it out on your patients or others.. Smh:/ but id rather have a rude surgeon who does a good job than a nice one who does a bad job.. You can't have both I guess..

He was actually rude more than once.. When I came in for him to take off my bandage and for my stitches removal.. The only time he was actually nice was when I came in for a consult, clearly because as soon as he takes your money, he no longer cares. And I would rather have a surgeon who's rude but does a good job too, if only his job was THAT good, but it wasn't.. It's obviously better than before cause everything is better than my huge forehead, but as I said, he totally made my hairline look crooked, it's higher on one side and shorter on the other, which I'm gonna fix with some hair grafts, but still, I'd rather not have to do that.. Oh well, I guess I should accept that you can never get perfection with plastic surgery..

I hope you dont have second thoughts Vangell, Dr. Aharonov is the best for this surgery. My before and after pics are on his website I'm the black woman with the short hair. Perhaps he was having a bad day, I mean we are all human it happens.
Also maybe Europeans have different mannerisms. I'm not dismissing your claims Jelena, I'm just saying I never experienced any rudeness with him from my personal experiences. I will say he is the best surgeon for hairline lowering in Beverly Hills. He performs 3-6 of them per week and hes not one of those surgeons that are all over the place doing different surgeries. He specializes in hairline lowering surgery and rhinoplasty. If you want the best, he is the one. The before and after pictures speak for themselves. I hope your recovering well Jelena!

I totally understand your review, there's lots of doctors out there without ethics! Lucky your hairline is ok and can be fixed with hair transplant... dr kabaker sounds better.
Fyi, I met a girl who was so bullied in high school about her high hairline that her life was miserable. She was so grateful to Dr Gal, she said he saved her life! This problem is a lot different than other "cosmetic" issues, so I do think he helps a lot of people.
Be patient!
