I had FFS with Toby Mayer about a year and a half...

I had FFS with Toby Mayer about a year and a half ago. Stage 1, I did brow lift, lower eye blepharoplasty, and soft tissue graft into nasolabial folds. I opted to not do my nose at first because I wasn't sure I needed it, so about 3 months after the first operation I decided to go through with the nose job. The brow lift seemed to increase the projection of my nose, so I wanted everything to be balanced after my brow bossing had been reduced.

After my procedures with Dr. Mayer, my life has completely transformed in such a way of total relief. Not to say that it was bad before I had Facial Feminization Surgery, but I definitely had a lot of issues with my self confidence in certain situations. I consider the result a complete success, because most days go by and I do not even think about the fact that I am transgender or that I ever had surgery.

Breakdown of operations:

~ Brow lift, brow bone reduction, and hairline advance ~
Dr. Mayer's suture closure technique has to be near best in the business. I have heard it from others and experienced it myself. He is an extremely meticulous doctor and what many would call a "perfectionist". This really transfers through to the way he closes the skin during a hairline procedure among other things. Scars are super minimal. He invented the flap procedure which saves hair follicles and places them under a scar, so when the wound heals there is hair growing up and through it shortly after. Now 1.5 years post op, people are astounded when I remind them that I had surgery and where he had to open me up. It takes someone being about 6" away with a bright light in order to see the tiny small white scar hidden behind the hairline. Ever since about 3 weeks post-op, it's been a non-issue. I had fairly minimal brow bone bossing, so the "Type I" procedure shaving the brow bone down was enough for me. He did a great job with placement of my eyebrows, too. My forehead is of no concern, and I "pass" easily without makeup. I think this was the most feminizing procedure he gave me besides subtle rhinoplasty.

~ Lower eye bleph ~
Getting this procedure at the same time was suuuuch a good idea. It probably made my face look 5 years younger. Specifically it addressed the eye bags that genetically were forming under my eyes. The fat is now repositioned in the proper place, and I do not have nearly as pronounced of eye circles. I think some is good, it looks natural. I no longer think about eye bags.

~ Soft tissue graft to nasolabial fold ~
With the hairline procedure, Dr. Mayer said he could take some of the left over tissue and kind of "stuff" it into a tunnel behind the nasolabial fold, or smile line. The outcome was that my naso folds were slightly less deep, but not completely gone as to make my face look unnatural. I no longer think about my nasolabial folds.

~ Rhinoplasty ~
One of Dr. Mayer's top specialties is natural looking rhinoplasty. He seems like the kind of doctor that turns people away if they are asking for something unrealistic. I haven't seen a single one of his noses that looks unnatural. If you are looking for a feminizing rhinoplasty, he is like a god. Too much experience! He corrected a slight hump, corrected my deviated septum, reset my nasal bone, and took in the tip by about 1mm if I remember correctly. Needless to say, my friends are shocked when I tell them I've had a nose job. He does incredibly natural looking work, and is very up front about what he will and will not do. I didn't really have a preference on how I wanted my nose to look, I trusted his judgement.. And, I was right to do so.

~ Rhinoplasty Revision ~
At around 8 months, I developed a small amount of scar tissue on the top part of my septum, just above my tip. It was just enough to make the slightest bump noticeable to me (I doubt anyone else). Dr. Mayer told me to come back in 6 more months, and he would take it out for free. I am now 2 days post op from that small revision procedure- which was done under local in about 45mins. I am just so impressed with this doctor, we have developed a good relationship and I am super happy to write this review for him. I will probably update again once the swelling subsides (luckily this time it's not much).

I found Dr. Mayer through the recommendation of two very good looking people, one who is a model and one who is a good friend. Both of their results were astounding, and they had nothing but good things to say about Dr. Mayer as one of the most competent surgeons in existence. When I attended a consult with him, he immediately off the bat described that he was not just looking for money. He told me if I asked for anything ridiculous, he would show me the door. Luckily, I had gone to him because I wanted subtle changes that look very natural (not the latter "extreme" kind of plastic surgery). I think he was probably the perfect choice for me, I can't imagine looking any more naturally female than I do now- and with zero visible scars at all. If you look at his before and afters, his talent speaks for itself.

Also his assistant, Francis, is a delight. I love love love her!

Thank you Dr. Mayer and staff! I hope you appreciate this glowing review, you certainly deserve it!

Perfectionist, insanely experienced, very concentrated on his work, and realistic is how I would describe Dr. Mayer. He is a wonderful surgeon, and has helped so so many trans women like me. He has a wonderful eye for natural looking feminization, and his attention to detail is for lack of a better word... god-like.
